I mean.......I'm sure they can afford it, but there may be some challenges about whether a candidate is worth it.

Woodward has made two major hires. From the outside looking in, it seems like for WBB, he went out and got the best coach and PAID for it. For baseball, however many candidates were interviewed or pursued, it looks like we found someone promising.

Does that make any sense? It seems like he zeroed in on the WBB coach, but was more open about baseball.

Football is still the cash king. He'll probably go for the bigger names first.

If we fire Orgeron , its safe to say money wont be an issue.

And hes 100% getting fired. His buyout is huge. Him getting fired would mean Woodward is about to drop some serious cash.

That dude knows how to hire.

I think I buy all this, but I just don’t know who is available for you. If anyone can get Chris Petersen to come out of retirement, it’s probably Woodward.

Chaps your arse that we keep firing national championship winning coaches and you can’t find one, huh?

This. Inept leadership at the state level (executive and legislative) and within the University hampers our ability to find a good fit. That is why we were rummaging through the bargain bin and hired Coach Binder.

LSU is financially in dire straits. They had massive losses COVID year. Any LSU fan who believes the program has A&M or Texas type money is still drinking Ed O coolaid.

Can they find the money? No doubt. But it is gonna put them in the hole big time so the next hire is critical as not a ton of money left to miss. If they follow the t.u. path, gonna get ugly for the program and take years to dig out of that hole. Ed has done some serious damage to the program from all angles. Shameful actually.

This seems like a very educated opinion.

Supposedly after the UCLA game there was quite a bit of "fundraising" to contribute to the buyout and they have the money. Ed is owed about 17 and the entire staff is around 20. I think he'll be fired with cause and will take significantly less than 17.. but he may try to fight it.

The facts of the matter are that Louisiana is a very poor state and LSU isn't doing enough to help the melanin-rich population.

I have it on good authority that they're looking after a bargain bin coach like Arky did so they can donate the rest of the money to BLM and the such.

This is a serious question. And there are a lot of LSU motor mouths that are clueless. You won’t be able to “hire anyone we want” ..there aren’t enough “big money donors” to bail you out. A cold look at the commonly reported numbers reveals a deep problem. LSU athletics reportedly lost around $89,000,000 in 2020. Fire Coach O and staff there goes another $20,000,000 or so. LSU athletic program is on track for another huge loss again in 2021. With Title IX you can’t kill off the other athletics. Even during the 2019 championship season LSU didn’t net very much. Louisiana is a poor state someone is going to wake up and ask why are we spending that kind of money for a couple of hundred athletes. LSU alumni don’t support the university. LSU ranks 10th in endowments out of 26 SEC schools. Pretty poor showing. Anyone that thinks Scott Woodward and the LSU administration at the highest levels are not acutely aware of those facts is simply ignorant of reality. Hiring someone for Jimbo, Nick, Sark type money probably is not an option. LSU best options st this point seem to be hire a young unproven coach...or go with a retread.

LSU has the money. However, I question how many older, proven coaches want to walk into that situation. The woke University, the sexual assault allegations, etc... LSU would be smarter to go after a younger guy that can establish a dynasty with their recruiting advantages.

That's a lot of typing.

You could've just said you didn't know what you were talking about and had the same result.

Sidewalk, why did you change your moniker away from LSU? That's kind of sad

If we're being honest, pretty much every university is "woke" from a leadership standpoint.

The athletes that are being recruited to play football would be considered "woke" by this board as well.

It's why Nick Saban led a BLM march over the summer.

Not sure how the sexual assault allegations would impact a new staff, it's very doubtful that the NCAA will enter that arena after the fiascos at Baylor and Penn State.

A lot of smart coaches don’t want to put up with the politics that come with the job. Not as bad as Texas but it’s a similar situation. Very unstable.

The easier answer is:
LSU is a broke arse shite program.
There you happy?
