I haven't watched an NFL game in over a decade, probably, so I don't know what the quality of teams are any longer.

For those of you who do watch the NFL, do you believe there are any NFL teams that could beat Indiana and if so, which ones?

all of them. They are pro's at every position in the NFL.

No offense, but I don't think I can take the opinion of a fan of Notre Dame, a team that is a historical and bitter rival of Indiana too seriously.

It does present a somewhat interesting conundrum. The idea of a college team beating an NFL team is considered near impossible due to the talent advantage the NFL team has at almost every position…Yet we’re seeing Indiana beat the brakes off teams considered to have the talent advantage at almost every position

No it really doesnt...unless Indiana has all players drafted in the 1st round in all positions....that is what it would take to compare to an NFL team that has a Pro at every position.

In general I would agree, but watching Indiana dominate due to how well they execute, I’m not sure it’s impossible. If Miami gets boatraced, that means you could probably combine the rosters of Bama/Oregon/Miami and they probably still lose to Indiana. That’s reaching pro team level of talent. If this Indiana team had 2 elite shut down corners, I’m not sure they couldn’t beat a garbage pro team like the Jets/Titans/Raiders on any given Sunday

The Jets or any other horrible team in the NFL would be favored by 28 and it wouldnt even be close. Their Pro Offense line and Pro Defense line would laugh and have a field day.

Ohio State literally had a shitty pro level defense last year and still managed to lose 2 games.

DE Sawyer Sr. 4th round
DT Williams Sr. 1st round
NT Hamilton Sr. 5th round
DE Tuimoloau Sr. 2nd round
WILL Styles Jr. soon to be 1st or 2nd round
MIKE Simon Gr. 4th round
CB Burke Sr. 5th round
SS Ransom Sr. 4th round
FS Downs So. soon to be top 10
CB Igbinosun Jr. soon to be 5th-7th round
Nickel Hancock Sr. 5th round

All of those guys were upper classmen sans Downs, who would have been a top 10 pick last year if eligible. It's not that absurd of a take given just how bad some basement dwelling pro teams can be

It's been done before, and more than once, and against NFL champions. It was called the Chicago Charities College All-Star Game.

From 1934-1976, the best players in college football formed a team each season and faced off against whichever team happened to be the NFL champion each season.

In these contests, the pro's won 31 games and the All-Stars won 9, with two ties.

I'm not saying all the players on Indiana's team are the very best at every position they play in college but, they are damn good and I believe could pull it off with some NFL teams.

Everyone just out of hand dismissing it doesn't really know the sport and are just chirping to hear themselves chirp because they think they finally found a topic they know something about.

You can’t make a retarded question like that suddenly legitimate by just saying you’re serious. All it means is that you are not smart.

Are you serious? How in the hell can you, ShoeBang, arbitrarily dismiss 42 years of college football teams playing the very best of NFL teams and winning 9 times and tieing twice?

ShoeBang don't know everythang.

And that was against the very best NFL team the NFL had to offer each season. The college teams would most assuredly have won more than 9 games if they were playing pedestrian NFL teams.

All the outrage and bug-eyed indignation at such a question even being asked is preposterous.

NFL teams would dominate. Don't you remember when College All-Stars/All American teams would get their asses kicked by NFL Super Bowl winners? They used to play that game every year for a while. They were never close.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that the 9 times college football teams beat the very best NFL teams were pretty close to college teams being better than NFL teams because, you know, they won the games.

Each NFL team has 85 (use to be anyway) professional football players. Maybe 10 Indiana players will have any sort of pro career

It has already been established, by on the field results, that college teams can beat NFL teams and beat championship NFL teams.

Of course, Indiana doesn't have all-stars at every position but, surely they could beat some NFL teams. I think many of you consider NFL teams to be some sort of other-worldly entities; they are not.

"I don't know, we haven't played Alabama yet." — Vince Lombardi after being asked what it felt like to be the greatest football team in the world just after winning the '66 Super Bowl.

Thanks for honesty. There’s probably only 2 or 3 future NFL starters on Indiana, & maybe 5-6 more dudes who are either depth pieces or practice squad types with more development. Zero chance they’d hold up against a 46 man NFL roster.
