Serious question. No troll. Why did TN fans believe the preseason hype?

What gave you reason to believe that TN would restore order in the East? What has Butch done up to this point to warrant any hype?

Is it the recruiting classes?

They forgot that all the talent couldn't coach themselves.

They are desperate for Tennessee to be a good team again instead of an afterthought.

It was all a black helicopter test case to see if the media could influence football fans like Trump supports.

They claim recruiting championships kind of like aTm and Texass. And I mean being in the SEC espn blew so much gas up their arse they just floated away.

Because it is their team and they have pride. Pretty obvious.

The real question, why were they so intense about it, is also obvious- they have watched Bama turn into a superpower just as they went to shite.

The poor always feels poorer living next to the rich.

You are all kinds of SEC-cessed right now. Which doesn't make sense because your team is top 25.

I guess all that cognitive dissonance about being in a shitty conference no one cares about and not being able to keep up with a SEC-powered A&M in facilities is bubbling through.

Actually nothing wrong with them believing - they do have some talent in spots.

Auburn though, they were completely off the mark - losing like they did late in the year, then losing what they did talent-wise - they should of had zero reason to believe they could win big.

To answer your question :

Recruiting, winning 4 out of our last 5 at the end of the year, returning starters.

I didn't think we'd be better than 8-4 this year, but I never expected to be 2-3 after leading by 13+ points in every game so far this year.

Anybody who says they anticipated that is more full of shite than gatorprincess's large intestine.

First bro Im from Missouri and go to at least two games a year as well as season tickets to OU games.

Second OU is not at all behind aTm in facilities in fact theres 300 Mil going into the football facilities and stadium before 2016. LSU and that broke athletic dept couldn't come up with 300 mil in donor money if their lives depended on it.

There is one team with 10 SEC East titles since the merger.

It's not UT.

Well Jeremy Johnson and Tennessee's QB whose name escapes me, were in just about every media guy's list of top three SEC QBs.

How embarrassing it must be for those guys.

Do you know how many SEC titles Florida had before the "merger"?
