I was sitting around today thinking about Drew Brees injury today. How would it affect your team if your starting QB went down to a season ending injury. I think it would about ruin our season if Burrow went down. I don’t think any other QBs on roster gives us the same leadership or talent level as Joe.

UGA is deep.

We won't be as good a team without Fromm.

But we are better suited than most to not have to rely on 1 player at 1 position for a win.

UK starting QB out for season
UF starting QB out for season
SC starting QB out for season

SEC East is used to this, West, not so much

The east has already had 3 of these.

Obviously UF's backup led them to a victory on Saturday, with lots of help from UK's coaching staff.

Hilinski played well, but it was Bama.

Our backup is the most seasoned of them all, with 7 starts for Troy, and honestly he looked pretty good before he hurt his hand and then his throws were high most of the rest of the game. His accuracy dropped off.
He's not Terry Wilson, but he is competent. I don't think we will lose games as a result of Wilson being out (other than the one we just lost). I think he will improve.
Now if he goes down, we have only a freshman, so we are sunk.

Honestly Florida, South Carolina, and Kentucky seem fine with backups. Bama would be a little different team but it’s deep enough to change play style and still win 11 or 12 games.

Auburn is probably OK because Gatewood is good. But both are young.

We would lose to San Jose State when they put Hicks in to take over from Starkel. The season would be, barring Hicks magically discovers how to move the ball, over. The only question is whether we'd win just two games or if we could sneak in one more.

Arkansas fan discontent would go from simmering to full scale riot. Our AD would be besieged in his office fighting for his life.

So we probably shouldn't lose Starkel.

1 game with no opponent prep does not make a season

We will see how this turns out after a few more games.

I think UK loses a scramble QB which helps their game.

We start a freshman that we really like. We have two other freshman that we really like. But if it were to happen I’d prefer it happen early while we are holding the reigns anyway.

We are deep at basically every position other than QB. I haven't seen enough from Bennett to feel good about our ability to do anything other than make it to Atlanta without Fromm.

I was going to say the same thing. I feel like we think we like Corral, and we think we will like Plumlee/Tisdale but we have no idea how good any of them will actually be

With only 2 games playing time for Bennett, of course.

But he has starter experience.
He has been in our system for 2 years.
He can create plays on his own with his mobility (his running TD was a throw away ball for fromm).
And his arm strength is there for college football.

Considering that we may have a defense that can win us a championship, I feel good about bennett.
Considering that we may have a running game that can compete with any defense in college football, I feel good about bennett.

A&M might be better with Calzada at the helm.

I would probably rather see John Stephen Jones than Hicks again

I've heard from incredible football minds on here that Tua throws nothing but slants and laterals to wide open receivers who do all the work, so Alabama should be able to plug anyone in there and not miss a beat.
