I agree

I’m not asking anybody to answer what they would do personally.

A more intriguing question might be, if a law enforcement agency/governing body was investigating alleged behavior, and you had hearsay evidence that it had occurred, would you tell them?

Only on an anonymous tip line or some other way that can't be traced back to you.

Give em a lead and nothing else.

Would you report that to the proper authorities?

Nope.

I think they should get paid and likely already do.

That’s why I asked.

I was hoping for a serious open discussion.

Take it to the right board then

Depends on what they did. Hurt someone's feelings? Nope.
assaulted? Yep
raped someone? Not only would I inform, I'd help the cops cuff them when they showed up.
embezzling money? Yep
cheating and illegally paying players? Buy someone lunch? Nope. Running a large scale operation? Yep.

These aren't hard questions. If you're struggling with them you should probably spend some time evaluating your personal values.

Whoever the proper authorities are

What if they were embezzling money?
I would 100% report them to the authorities.

Is that illegal, or just against NCAA rules?

I appreciate you taking this seriously.

I should have added....

What if it was your spouse?

What if it was your son or daughter?

What if it was your mother or father?

That was sexually assaulting or raping people?

I would definitely turn them in.

There are so many holes in this hypothesis
LSU was warned multiple times about sexual assaults. In this scenario LSU would be the police and they slid it under the rug. Imagine if someone close to you was sexually assaulted and the police said nah not right now.

I agree with the above posters, if someone is struggling with what to do they should reevaluate their value system. The only moral grey area for me personally that you have mentioned would be if it was my wife. I would have to see why she was doing what she did. More than likely I'm helping her hide the body.

Just ask. “What would LSU not do?”

I agree coach.

But a one time incident, it would be very difficult for me to turn in my children.

Not saying it’s right, but very difficult.

I'm not sure any of us could honestly answer that with a "yes".

There is a big jump from paying players to sexual assault. I have no time for rapists, so i wouldn’t even have to think about that one. Paying players? Who cares.

I would give them 48 hours to turn themselves in or I would call the police.

If it was your family (children, parents, spouse, ...) that was being harassed, assaulted, or raped would you want it reported and investigated? Or would you understand that the person being accused of this was making someone a lot of money and be okay with it?
