Self-serving hypocrisy

A bunch of folks are upset that LSU is doing something that will "ruin the sport of cfb". Sorry to bring bad news, but that happened several years ago when the lawyers and judges took control of the NCAA rule book. Or maybe several decades ago, when the colleges and universities sold out to TV money. Or maybe way back when they started handing out athletic scholarships, building big stadiums and selling tickets to the games. No matter when it happened, at this point the whole thing has nothing to do with education and is completely misplaced, mishandled and corrupted.
If we're gonna overturn this latest court ruling because it serves the interest of certain parties, then there are many more rollbacks that need to happen. If your school or athletes have previously challenged the NCAA over eligibility or recruiting or transfer rules (I believe UGA has), then you have no grounds for complaint. This is a group effort, and all the current hand wringing by media and fans is, for the most part, self-serving hypocrisy.

I remember when AJ Green got suspended for 4 games because he sold his bowl game jersey on ebay for $700.
NCAA draconian bullshite set us up for this bullshite. We are in the nightmare of the backlash knee jerk opposite end of the spectrum now, because the NCAA was so incompetent in dealing with this shite. That's why the lawyers and judges have now taken it over and "fricked it up."

What if we've finally reached the breaking point and LSU ends up being the reason college football does a full reset and there's no more NIL plus the transfer portal is eliminated and then Saban becomes the NCAA commissioner and we all live in happy harmony together as college sports fans.

I hope so but I highly doubt it. This is college sports now. Will prob never go back so we have to adapt.
Also, I wish Grunge Rock becomes trendy soon and we get some bands like Nirvana, Peal Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, STP, etc.

Alabama forfeited the entire 1993 season because a player signed a napkin contract while drunk after winning the national championship and then he decided he didn't want to go pro when he sobered up.
He was given $400 that night for it.
Not vacated, forfeited.

I have a different viewpoint. Nobody at the college level forces people to participate in college athletics. If anything, the professional leagues are the ones obstructing athletes from participating in their leagues. I believe that colleges and universities should be able to impose and enforce rules of amateurism. The athletes can look to be paid elsewhere for their skills and not distort the educational system in the process (at least no more than it's already distorted by outside money).

Every single media member that has an opinion on LSU, but said nothing about Texas which happened a month ago is full of shite.

And I also wonder, where is the outrage towards South Carolina? Did they not also sign a guy from an NFL camp?

SO WHAT??? If the issue is "guys who have signed NFL contracts", as the complaint is stated in that 'message from the SEC presidents', then it applies across the board... or not at all.
