Seems some people don’t like the name “pods”.

So, how about a shout out to LSU. 4 groupings of 4 teams…seems natural to call them “quads”.

I actually like pods.

You can also be creative and informative like having podcasts.

I just don’t get what’s wrong with calling them “divisions” like every other sport does

Is that a down vote? That sounds like a downvote.

call it subdivision if you prefer but it's all the same, and for that matter we don't know if that's the way it will be done. It may still be 2 divisions, 8 per side.

I expect there will be 20 teams eventually. 4 conferences, 20 teams each.

That is my guess as well. 4 conferences with 4 divisions/pods/quads/groups/herds/packs/covens whatever u want to call it. Then 16 teams in a playoff with no conference finals game or the conference finals being the quarterfinals of the playoffs.

Bingo!

West: Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M

East: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt
8 west
8 east

7 games in division
4 games in other division (rotates to where you play every non-division team every 2 years) - NO PERMANENT OPPONENTS are necessary because the real ones will be within the divisions)
1 non-conference, Ga/Ga. Tech, USCe/Clemson, Fla/FSU, etc.
