I don't have an issue with those types of teams mailing it in in the SECT, especially when there is nothing to gain. However, this SC team had a shot at hosting with even a decent showing in the SECT IMO. It was pretty obvious Kingston was mailing in this game when I saw he was starting Weins, who had only pitched 9.1 innings all season (and had 9 BBs in those innings). It was obvious he has trouble with control, as proven in this game.
So, yes, I am sort of getting tired of our approach in the SECT, especially when a good, or even decent showing could help us.
I turned the game off after the 3rd.

We have more CWS titles than SECT titles. There’s a reason for that. I’m okay with this approach.

I mentioned this on our board but I'll just say it again. Like, yeah, I get that approach. But there's no reason to think both can't be done.
LSU has won 3 SECT titles since 2000 that also include 2 CWS championships and a CWS final.
Vandy also won both 2 years ago.
Plus, performing well in the SECT can often have seeding and hosting implications which would inherently give us a better shot to win make it to the CWS.
I've never liked the dismissive approach our program has had towards the SECT.
ETA: And I agree to your point about hitting, our team this year just isn't good enough to make deep runs in either tournament regardless of our strategy.
