They did not secede from the union. I cannont recognize them as southern.
The states that seceded from the Union during the War of Nothern Aggression were: South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, and North Carolina
Mizzou, OU and Kentucky are yankees. OU gets a bit of a pass as they were still an indian territory.

If you want to be precise...per this map....Austin, College Station, and Tuskaloosa, and Athens, GA appear to have been opposed to seccsion. Yankee sympathizers are worse than Yankees.
