Not luck, good play. And we beat bama straight up.

I agree. Miles and his staff did a great job of preparing y'alls team for that game.

To the poster that said y'all weren't lucky against UT, y'all were pretty lucky IMO to be going against an inexperienced coach.

IF the allegations are proven to be true, LSU deserves to go to the SECCG and possibly the NCG but unfortunately, I don't think any ruling from the NCAA will come out til after the season.

Yes, but you make your own luck.

So if Auburn has to forfeit, the other team wins; if they have to vacate, the other team still loses.

USC vacated the Reggie Bush wins. I have a feeling Auburn would do the same.

CountryVolFan, you are aware that the definition of "Luck" is preparation meeting opportunity? Your year may come again, but it ain't this year!

I logged in just to point out the poetic symetry of this possible outcome;

2007 - LSU, the 1st team to win the MNC with two losses, but undefeated in regulation.

2010 - LSU, the 1st team to win the MNC undefeated, but with two losses in regulation.

Beautiful!

I didn't say you weren't good.

I've found that lucky teams usually have a great defense and bad offense.

I think the investigation will keep going, but Cecil Newton's own admission is sufficient to declare Cam ineligible. I believe this will happen soon, and if it does happen during the season wins are forfeited rather than vacated.

The question is really how will the voters respond to undefeated LSU?

As long as we get to Atlanta, I'll take our chances from there.

Also, if that were to happen, would LSU be the luckiest unbeaten team ever with:

There was absolutely nothing lucky about LSU's win against Bama.

Why they have to play their best game of the year against my team...I don't know.

Dropped TD pass by UNC

This was good fortune, or luck as you call it. Happens to every team -- teams drop passes in every game. Not all of them do it with a chance to win the game, but it still happens. LSU was fortunate to survive this game.

quote:

Extra play TD vs. UT

It's not an extra play, as if it was not deserved. LSU ran a play (a bad one), but Tennessee had not 12, but THIRTEEN players on the field. That's good fortune as well, but LSU still had to score on the next play. LSU still had to earn that TD, and they did, straight up.

quote:

Fake FG bounce pass vs UF

That too was good fortune, but again, after that play, LSU still had to drive another 35 yards and score a TD with the clock dwindling. It's unfair to call it luck if they still have to run 4 more plays to drive downfield and score a TD to win.

quote:

Reverse on 4th vs. Bama

This is the worse example on your list. That's not luck at all. Getting a first down on 4th and 1 is not lucky. Would it have been luck had LSU run this play on 3rd down? No. AGAIN, LSU still had to score the TD, the 2pt conversion and an ensuing FG to have a comfortable margin to win.

If found to be ineligible DURING the season the games are recorded as 1-0 losses. LSU would be 10-0 at this point and Arky would be 9-1. You are completely incorrect.

Just another reason to fire Gary Crowton. I mean, who could justify a victory with only one point?

Actually, if it is decided before the end of regular season, this is incorrect. The games will be forfeited resulting in the results being changed to losses for Auburn and wins for their opponents.

Vacating of wins only happens after the season is completed.

That is how it will officially happen, but whether computer rankings/pollsters will take that into account is another thing.

Not in a forfeit. Only if it's vacated.
