1960's is what I'm calling the modern era.
Not sure I would call the 60's the modern era
era #1
spanning 1800's to WW II
era #2 - GI Bill and the rise of the state schools
spanning WWII to late 70's / early 80's
era #3 - ESPN / free agents / Supreme Court ending NCAA monopoly
spanning late 70 early 80's to ????
I am unsure if we are not actually in a 4th era that began with conference realignment in the 90s' and the move to the BCS in the late 90's. Certainly the moves made by schools in the past 20 years has had an effect but we will not know the full effect till all the dust from moving settles. I know the Hogs have to go back to the 60's for their lone MNC but the 60's felt more like the 40's and 50's than the modern era.
If we are truly in a 4th era it might be labeled the end of the IND schools and the rise of the power conferences which may cumulate in the actual move to the super conferences (2 or 4 power conferences)

Ah, wasn't sure how many times we played them.

Teams played whomever they could a long time ago. Look back at your team's history and you'll know what I'm talking about.

0-1 vs Rutgers
There are about 5 or 6 schools on that list that I would like to see LSU play soon. I know we'll get Mizzou soon enough. But I wouldn't mind OOC game with Rutgers or Stanford.

You mean 9-1? We've played them a lot recently.

How do you lose a game to a High School?
There wasn't much difference in a college and high school team back then. I would guess there are plenty of schools that lost to high school teams.

Some of those are off.
Here are the number of schools that have are perfect against each schools since 1960. Click in the links of each school to get a list of teams.
For instance, Alabama's 6 are:
Boston College 0-2
Oklahoma State 0-1
Minnesota 0-1
Central Florida 0-1
Northern Illinois 0-1
Utah 0-1
Ah, it's 1950?
LINK
Then add BC and Villanova, replace Central Illinois with Northern Illinois

37 current FBS teams have registered losses to high schools. Northern Illinois has the most losses against high schools with 15.

There are a lot of dates to consider eras in college football that aren't totally arbitrary. 1960 just isn't one of them (to be fair to our piggy friend, he's using a crappy website)
1936 - AP poll begins
1965 - one-platoon system ends (unlimited substitutes allowed)
1973 - 105-man scholarship limit enacted
1978 - NCAA splits between 1-A (FBS) and 1-AA (FCS)
1994 - 85-man scholarship limit
1998 - start of BCS

According to the NCAA, the modern era started in 1937. A lot of people have their own opinions as to when it is, but they are just opinions. Officially, it stands at 1937.
