perhaps. if lsu wins the tourney though i think the resumes would be pretty damn close
LSU would be tourney champs
LSU would have a higher RPI
LSU would 3-1 against Ole Miss
Ole Miss would have finished 2nd in the regular season. One spot/game ahead of LSU. And are West champs.
Ole Miss would probably have the better record against rpi top 25 - this one is hard to know at this point with state close to top 25
Ole Miss would have better SOS

I don't wanna get too deep into it cause we still have a game to play today... But IF we were to play yall Saturday (combined with a Duke victory over Miami today), I think the winner of that semifinal game gets the last National Seed spot... If I'm not mistaken, The National Seed spots are picked before the final even ends on Sunday so winning or losing that game has no bearing on the selection process... I could be wrong though.

championship game at 330
hosts sites announced at 8pm
If they feel the championship game will affect the national seeds no doubt they'll set up contingencies.
Like if LSU wins they're the #8, if they dont someone else is.

Hogs played all these teams as well except the Vols (who were in the Top 50 in the RPI) so what is your point? That the Hogs do not deserve where you keep placing them
Tennessee is terrible. I don't care what the RPI says. They're a bad team. Boasting about beating them just because of RPI is stupid.
Yes, Arkansas did play 4 of the five teams listed and went 8-4 against them. Arkansas also went without being swept this year and 16-14 in league play.
quote:
Keep saying they will not be a 2 seed and I will LMAO when they are ahead of the Hogs when the brackets come out
I'm saying they're a bubble 2 seed and a lock for a 3 seed. If you knew much about baseball, you'd know the only system ranking seeds was national seeds 1-8. They don't rank each seeding. Christ.
quote:
UK had the #3 SoS in the country after Florida and Georgia (who the Hogs did not play) and the Hogs SoS was #34
You leg hump me on every board and use this same shitty argument. SOS is a shitty system. Anyone who knows how screwed up the RPI system is, realizes this.

I have agreed with you on this but the NCAA still uses it so no matter how screwed up it is, the NCAA still sets the brackets. This is why I am dumbfounded you keep arguing against it. Look I would love other type of metrics but I am not the NCAA. What you and I think is not worth 2 dead flies as the only thing that matters is how the NCAA thinks.
NCAA will look at UK's #3 SoS and #19 RPI and UK will be a #2 seed. Granted they do not officially seed past 16 for host and Super, it is easily seen how they seed the rest by who plays where and in what bracket.

I have been watching for some time and they do rank even if they do not do so "officially"
In each of the sites :
Seeded teams plays lowest team in first round at site (defacto #1 vs #4)
Middle teams play each other in first round at site (defacto #2 vs defacto #3)
Read what I posted and flesh it out
Indiana gets to host (#1 at that site)
the bracket will look like this
IU plays some small school they should beat (#1 vs #4)
UK plays some MAC type school with UK #2 and MAC #3
My predictions for this bracket
IU plays St. Louis (or similar team)
UK plays Miami, OH or Ball State
Not sure why you are having such a hard time with this.

Ole Miss played MSU 4 times, so them making the top 25 helps everyone.

but only went 2-2 against them. that doesnt do much to their rpi vs 25 record. LSU went 3-0

FLa State losing to Maryland 4-0 top 6
Maryland isn't much of a threat to host, but it's always nice to see FSU hit their post season slump.

They announce the 8 national seeds earlier in the day than all of the host sites. I'm pretty sure they announcer them during the SECTCG a few years back when it was OM/MSU.

I was at that SECt Final in 2005 as well... The committee used to announce the National Seeds early in the afternoon... They aired the ESPNews announcement on the jumbotron before the game .. It was pretty cool actually.

They changed it to later that night a few years back. I know it was at night last year. As with the basketball committee they will put in contigency plans for Sunday. I'm sure most of the bracket will be done Saturday.
