Auburn/Bama & Florida/FSU or Miami haven’t played nearly as often as other rivalries. LSU, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, & Mizzou don’t have another decent team in state.
Baw, Louisville has been hell a lot more successful then aTm has ever been. LULZ

In St.Louis you have SLU and in Springfield Missouri State.
Was not aware SLU had a football team, not sure about Missouri State are they the maroon bears? If so, have they been competitive with Mizzou Tigers football?

Where as in Alabama you have......college football.
Alabama has 10 team NCAA's that are not football
Auburn has 14 team NCAA's that are not football + 5 equestrian
They also have current and former semi pro teams

Pinkel was hired around the same time The Greatest Show On Turf took off. Mizzou didn't have a chance.

Cardinals play a lot of meaningful baseball in September and October.
If the Cards are in the playoffs people are choosing that over Mizzou football.
Those are just the facts.

Fair enough
At the high school level tho, in a state that big, and a virtual DI monopoly, at least they should have killed it when recruiting. Nebraska has nobody and they built a football program. Kansas had nobody and they built a basketball program.
In most states, especially the south, football is big in grade school and high school. Is this not the case in Missouri? Especially if CoMo is a college town smack between the 2 biggest cities in the state.
