Old Tulane Stadium was a gem
Hosted three Super Bowls as well.

Damn, that looks badass. Did they tear it down?

We played 17 straight years in New Orleans. Tulane should have stayed in the SEC.

It was condemned the day the Superdome opened. They tore it down soon after.

Sadly, yes.
Built for less than 300K, it set a record for attendance of about 87K
I think it was demolished the year Regan took office but I could be wrong

Damn. @Atlanta every year vs Tech. @Columbus vs UGA. @Birmingham vs Bama, and @NO vs Tulane. AU couldn’t catch a home game back in the day.

It’s only been 54 years since Tulane beat us.
We are on upset alert.

No dumbass, the Sugar Bowl was built for Tulane
Tulane de-emphisized football in the 50's, long before the stadium seated 80,000. The last really good season was 1949. The attendance records are against LSU. If you provide any proof otherwise and save your insults, I'll be glad to listen.

That’s sad. You hate to see that.
The semi-professionalization of college football killed a lot of old programs. Honestly I wish I could have experienced it back in the day when it was more “students playing football” rather than “athletes pretending to be students in order to play football.” And yes, I fully realize the irony of me as an Alabama fan saying that.

Tulane Stadium exceeded 80,000 capacity in 1947:
Capacity
80,985 (1956–1975)
80,735 (1947–1955)
69,000 (1939–1946)
49,000 (1937–1938)
35,000 (1926–1936)
Record attendance 86,598 (December 1, 1973 Tulane 14 - #8 LSU 0. First Tulane win over LSU since 1948.)

It went to 80K in the 50's
Tulane deemphasized in late 50' to early 60's just before the SEC exit
Lets say they built a 80K stadium in SC that seated both Taters and Cocks equally, do you think both fan bases could fill it?
I know football did not start in Clemson till a few years ago but the rest of the south has been playing it well for at least a century or more.

Thanks for that, hard to tell Taters football existed before Dabo.
No wonder the Cocks dislike them so.
Q You know what you tell a man with 2 black eyes?
A Nothing, they clearly did not listen the first two times
