We are going to see a serious problem when teams decide to back out last minute when it comes to SEC play. I graduated from Georgia Southern and we were suppose to play FAU this past Saturday.

Due to test results and contact tracing coming back on Friday they cancelled the game a day before we were supposed to play. I see this being a big problem with other schools. What happens with the gators decide they have 8 players out due to covide and "RESCHEDULE". No chance it gets reschedule and they wont take a loss for it. Something needs to be in place where if you don't play you take an L, simple as that. Thoughts?

All i'm saying is it will cause some serious problems when teams hace "a number of players" out with covid. You play your depth no matter who is out but they should not be able to cancel on a day before the game

Just wait, when schools start backing out because there good players can't play no one will know who should actually be playing for the SEC championship

We've got 2 bye weeks to make up games if needed. It's called planning ahead. And we aren't pussies in the SEC. We mainline the virus into our players to get them past the protocols.

Wouldn't be surprised that Missouri announces they aren't going to play against Bama this weekend

I heard Vandy floated opting out as a team, don't know how much truth there is to that

There's an actual formula for that. I mean, we have rules. I realize you didn't go to a decent school, but try to follow along in your manual.

No, it's really simple.

The SEC suggests - not requires, to my knowledge - a roster of 53 in order to play a game.

Each SEC school is wealthy and has tremendous resources at their disposal. Test every player before the date to clear players for game day. They can afford it.

If a player tests positive, he's out for 10 days until he clears a test. Everybody else who clears tests can play. Then go with the players that the team has got on game day. If you can't field a team, you forfeit. Period. If you only have 40 players, then play those forty players.

There's no inherent advantage to a particular team here. Don't whine to me about the talent level of your third stringers, that's a YOU problem that you should have fixed months ago during recruiting. Just suck it up. That's the hand that has been dealt to everybody in the league.

It's go time, no excuses.

SEC has a rule this year that there needs to be a minimum amount of scholarship players at each position on the depth chart and no swapping positions to make up the numbers. I think it’s like minimum of 7 covid free oline men before you have to cancel.

Just be happy we're getting football in any capacity. That's about the only takeaway.

What does high-altitude cerebral edema have to do with all of this?
