I think someone needs to define "inferiority complex" for this discussion to continue.

And that's why I used the example that I did.

Easy. We AU folk have the biggest inferiority complex.

Ole Miss is just inferior. Nothing complex about it.

I haven't lived in-state for about three years now and when I left it was the other side of the state that had the complex... I'm sure things are different now.

they will be REALLY desperate in a couple of years.
Right now, they are feeling relief, and hope.

My vote goes to Mississippi State which essentially constantly does what it can to one-up Ole Miss. It's almost sad and entirely annoying.

I'm waiting on Mullens to start calling them New Miss. That'll really stick it to TSUN!

this is basically true. We arent like auburn or arkansas who believes there programs are just as good as bama's and LSU's. We know we're a small school with a small fanbase going up against big schools with big fanbases who have a lot more resources than we do. Doesnt mean we cant compete with these programs and better ourselves every year

exactly. and I'd say its when you believe your program is better than another when its not. Not the least successful program or the one who has accomplished the least, but the one who believes they are better when theyre not. The only example for Ole Miss would be we know we have a better program than State. Thats basically the only school in the West we think we're superior to. Is there an argument that historically we dont have a better program? No. Is there an arugment that we've have a better program over the past decade? No. Do we have nicer facilities? yes. Do we have a larger fanbase? yes. Have we been to more and won more bowl games? yes. The only bullshite argument State could have is they've been to to Atl, one time, over 10 years ago. When the SEC was weak and what did they get in return? A trip to the cotton bowl, where they lost, and ended up not being ranked in the top 25. That proves how weak the west was that year. OM may not have been to Atl, once, like the bulldogs have, but have recieved the same reward, 3 times this decade, actually won it, all three times, and ended up being ranked in the top 25 all three times. And sure some people from other schools may tease OM and say you still never been to ATL while state has, but anyone with a brain knows our program, historically, recently, and presently is stronger

You're really underplaying what happened at the tail end of the 90s...we won the most games in the West from 97-00, won the West(very well could have made another trip), won 10 games in a year, and finished the season just outside of the top 10 which I believe is higher than OM has been ranked since Vaught. The series has also been even(or one up for State) since the Egg Bowl has moved to the campuses. This decade has been bad and that's because of Jackie's burnout and the Crooms' error. We can and will do better under Mullen and whoever follows him. We have a foward thinking President and AD, I'm confident they'll make a very good hire.

2001

And the thing was Jackie didn't leave the cupboard barren, I believe we finished 9th in the country in recruiting the year before he retired. There were several NFL players on the initial rosters Crooms coached and he wasted it.

Im not downplaying what yall did. Im downplaying who you did it against. The three years OM was in the hunt for the west this decade the top team won the NC twice and the other went undefeated in regular season play. In this decade we've finished number 20, 14, and 13. Is that not higher on average to your best 3 seasons in the 90's, But NIH, youre a smart guy, do you think State is superior to OM?

We finished all three of those years ranked(25, 12, 22), what I meant was that our #12th ranking was the highest for any team in the State since your days with Vaught.

I don't think our program is historically superior than OM, but I think we can be just as good and better as long as have the right coach.
