but weren't you guys cheating your asses off under sherrell to get there?

btw, those were some damn good and tough MSU teams... 2000 Auburn/State game comes to mind.

That shite is WAY overblown, we got busted for things like repaying poor recruits' families on trips to State.

It is, but that was never my point. I said our best year was better than your's.

Among the violations, the committee found members of the Mississippi State football program improperly reimbursed prospective student-athletes for recruiting trips, giving recruits and their families money for hotel rooms and rental cars. An assistant coach arranged to pay for the summer school classes a recruit needed to become eligible and a booster allowed two recruits to stay in a hotel in Starkville for free.

Right, but that's not exactly handing out Hummers/Bentley's to players while paying them huge amounts of cash.

Yet you guys always believe you are on par with the rest of the SEC and you want to prove it--but you never do. The other teams have. Just my 2 cents.

First of all, no we don't. Secondly, THAT DOES NOT DESCRIBE AN INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

You obviously don't know what it means.

This is the way I see it... giving away large cash amounts (ala albert means) is just plan fricking stupid.... the small things here and there are worse... they can be somewhat hidden (at least for a while).

With all that being said, what's done is done... not trying to rehash the past.

Atlanta. Omaha. Final Four. Recent SEC Overall Championship and two SEC Tourney Championships in Basketball. 41-27, and two knees.

What is it we're trying to one up again?

By constantly mentioning that shite over and over and over and over again you're doing nothing but demonstrate the inferiority complex. A person who doesn't have an inferiority complex does NOT feel the need to prove themselves.

I don't disagree it was an advantage but it was not on the level people think/thought it was. You read some of these posts on here and you'd think Jackie would have had a payroll for players, players running trains on his daughters, and a car dealership giving out cars.
