Here in Louisiana that can be arranged.

I've lived in Louisiana. Don't want to go back.
I've lived in Texas. It's not bad.
I wouldn't mind Tennessee. Pretty state.
Not Florida. I like seasons and cold weather.
North Alabama is not bad.
Not Mississippi.
Arkansas would be ok.

I'm from Tennessee but live in Texas now. But aside from those 2, but most states have atleast some desirable area.
I wouldn't
Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri or Louisiana.

Coastal Georgia
Honestly, Coastal Georgia kinda sucks. Dirty water, big arse barges, and shitty brown beaches that stink when the tide rolls out
…and hella gnats and no-see-ums

All of them are fine, but my answer would be: none of them.
Too much humidity. The only 2 things left that are decent about where I live (Southern California) are the weather (the best in the world) and the beautiful scenery (some of the best in the world).
But, if forced to, I would move to either Georgia, Oklahoma or South Carolina (or North Carolina if it was in the SEC footprint).

Appeal:
North Alabama (TN River Valley)
Upstate SC (Greenville)
Middle TN
Hill Country Texas
Oklahoma (but not actually in OKC or Tulsa)
Tolerate:
NW Arkansas
Tupelo
Even though I don't accept Mizzou in the SEC, I like the Springfield/Joplin area.
Not appealing:
Lousianna
Florida

Probably a RV park in Orlando. Spend summers in Maine.

Spousal unit and I have been researching possible retirement locales for months now and based on home prices, location, year-round weather and other factors we are leaning heavily towards Chattanooga, TN.

I stated near Nashville, TN meaning more like the area around Franklin, TN.

Yes, the weather is great in Coastal CA but is it worth the 13.3% peak state income tax and all the other issues there?

Appeal
Florida (beaches)
Georgia (lakes)

It isn't a very large stretch of real estate but coastal Alabama is pretty nice. There are some great places in the Missouri Ozarks. Western Kentucky is fairly pleasant.
No appeal: Florida. I lived on the Florida coast once, that was more than enough thank you. Anywhere in the state of Texas.
Depends: Memphis. Some of the greater city area (including the suburbs) is wonderful. Some of it is an absolute disaster and a complete sh*thole.

Lived in MS my whole life. Graduating from OM in December and immediately moving to SC Coast. Can’t wait

I have lived in Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Missouri. The only one I wouldn't live in again is Missouri.
