I'll gladly admit that Faurot Field looks very underwhelming when photographed, but it definitely feels a lot bigger than it looks when you're there. It's not a very aesthetically pleasing stadium and I'd love to have a new one, but it's no worse than Vaught Hemingway or Davis Wade. Lumping it with Vandy is woefully inaccurate

LSU, death valley? I've seen a couple post on how it got that name due to a graveyard? Accurate or no?
Never heard anything about a graveyard.
It was originally called “Deaf Valley” due to crowd noise. At some point in the 50’s, a newspaper writer misheard “deaf” as “death” and called it “Death Valley” in the article. About that time we won our first National Championship and the new moniker stuck.

The most miserable experience I ever had at a football game was in Norman in 1997. Couldn't even enjoy the 51-7 beat down because it was 8 degrees!
Not sure how good the Aggies were in 1997, but I know how good the Sooners were in 1997! That Sooners team paired with that temperature, no thanks! I went on a recruiting trip to A&M in 2000, the Aggies played Tulsa, it was a cool experience.

Big 12 South Champions. 9-2 regular season, but got run over by Nebraska in the title game and lost to UCLA in an R.C. Slocum Cotton Bowl special.

I'm going to assume you meant academic year 2000, because the 1999 season was when A&M played Tulsa at Kyle. Randy McCown's 96 yard TD pass to Chris Taylor is still the longest pass play in A&M history.
The 2000 season, A&M played at Notre Dame, Wyoming and UTEP in non-conference.

Not really. If you didn’t have that track/walking path around it that makes the stadium feel like it’s a mile away, it wouldn’t feel that big. It’s definitely not better than the Vaught or Davis Wade by any measure.

I went in 2016 (pre -renovation) but honestly not a bad seat in the house and great scenery.

The phrase "where opponents dreams come to die" came along sometime after that.
The graveyard is a Clemson Death Valley thing. They have a mock graveyard where tombstones are erected for big wins.

Now BDS is right next to a big real graveyard... I thought that was kind of creepy.

Looks like Arkansas' Razorback Stadium now has the colored lights...looks great.
Thanks! Actually, we don't have red colored light. On Friday nights before a home game they light up the video boards solid red, which gives the stadium that red glow. It looks really cool.
We've been doing this for about 10 years or so now.

You'll have a lot of neat new places to travel to! I have a few SEC East schools I still need to visit
