Pretty accurate most of the time.
Was Mizzou in the "getting votes" section? I never look that low anymore.

On top of everything Engie just posted you add the week in and week out of competiton you have to play in the SEC. There are no down games in the SEC ,if you come into Lexington, Nashville,Oxford,starkville....etc and your team is not up 110% to playing you leave with an "L". Then next week play someone like UF,UGA,LSU,SC,ARKY....and get tested again. It's like we beat our teams up so much in conference play it's almost a disadvantage in the rankings. Then at the end of the season and 90% of the SEC teams are in the top 25 and then the SEC starts getting love from the AP,USA Today,ESPN,The Computer rankings....etc due to the tough IC play.

I was speaking only of the SEC schedule. I think 4-4 is possible.

Mizzou has speed all over the place
I imagine the coaches' #1 recruiting goal contradicts this. If it doesn't, it soon will.

Yes, mos def. By all accounts we are scouring the south for the DL speed y'all speak of.

Mizzou's problem is that SEC defenses have been able to adjust to the spread offenses run by UF and Auburn (run first spreads). They have learned how to scheme against it.
Unless you have a Tebow or Newton type QB, I don't care how fast Mizzou's offense players are. They are not going to be fast enough. Trust me I watched a RB who is in London on the Track team and a RB who beat the previously mentioned RB in a race not be able to run away from SEC defenses.

Wait until you actually play a game before making remarks about speed. Unlike the Big suck12, we do our talking on the grid iron.

Legend, makes perfect sense, however, the Big 12 last year was a gauntlet. Different animals, but, it's never easy in any of these conferences. To think that MIZ has never seen anything like the SEC is an overstatement on some levels. We've played big games, and not that we've won them all, but to quote HCGP, "we haven't been playing HS teams for the last 14 years". We're ready, it will be fun, can wait to post here come November.

Like someone said earlier,it's not playing an sec team here and there that you need to worry about. The week to week grind will be the true test

Blood, we have the QB you speak of, just wait and see. Frank the Tank is fun to watch.

Engie...this is what bothers me. The spread really sends the OL to some weird spots, SEC SPEED will over run us at times. Gotta hope that the speed in other places helps, cause that's gonna happen at times. Nice post.
Thing is it's not just speed. The SEC doesn't lack for size either in the defensive department. If your O-Line doesn't haven't size AND agility you're fricked.
To reiterate Engie's point, even at the bottom of the league we've put our fair share of guys put in the league on the defensive side of the ball.

Belle, so has MIZ. Aldon Smith NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He was exactly the type of recruit HCGP looks for 3 star under the radar.

I have seen him play on TV... He is a really good QB in the Big 12. SEC defenses frick up great Big 12 QBs, ask Colt and Sam. He is no Tebow or Newton, few have been that great.

Yep... that about explains it.. Mizzou fans are in for a rude awakening if they think they are going to run through the SEC.

SoCalMIZ
Vandy,Bama,UK,UF,UT all back to back ,and this will be a "so called" easy year schedule as most of your tough games are home games.
quote:Hey atleast you'll be able to talk trash to Vandy and Kentucky.."If your team shows up ready to play" other wise you'll play Bama and UF the week after both of those games..
We're ready, it will be fun, can wait to post here come November.

Nah, we'll give everyone in the east a game, and break some hearts in the process.

Nah, I picked them to beat Mizzou also! The only advantage is it's a home game for Mizzou

DL for most but DE sized LB's for Bama and maybe UGA. Not sure how well UT backers are for the 3-4. We had a 273llb monster at LB last year and a 260llb one as well. Lookout for that LSU line..it and the USC line is sick. Auburn has bragging rights on the DL as well.
