I'll hang my hat on that. Our defense is vastly improved compared to last year. Now, if only our offense would get their stuff together.

Most of those spots are left to people on bad defenses. They get more opportunities.

ETA: It is still something to be proud of for the player.

Ya.. if it’s just one player from said team. Not when you got a couple guys.

Looks like the Mizzou defense is on the field for lots of plays

It’s kindof the opposite. More tackles = on the field more plays = bad defense

Nice. Mizzou has a bunch of pieces and if they find a couple more they will be dangerous.

VOLS RUN AMOCK OBLIGATORY POST:
I like that the Vols D is rotating a ton of guys through. It hurts the overall stats due to guys not having experience and not being the same caliber as the starters but 42 different players have tackles through 4 games. Hopefully that pays dividends as the season progresses and injuries become a factor.

...or it means they're on the field due to a lot of 3 and outs. Either way, our defense has improved and I like the direction it is trending.

This doesnt make any sense. They would be on the field a lot less if they produced a lot of 3 and outs.

Ex. When we played New Mexico, they only got 2 first downs all game. They ran just 33 offensive plays as a result of so many 3 and outs.

When we played FSU, they got 22 first downs all game. They ran 71 plays by comparison because we werent getting them off the field early on in drives.

Let me help you. Go back and read my initial post. Now, go back and read the post I replied to.

Does that help? I know you're an LSU fan so let me know if I need to explain further.

I just saw the response, if you meant to say offense, put offense.

Also, that doesnt jive anyways because outside of UGA you havent had a game where you ran a few amount of plays on offense.

LT - 80 plays
KSU - 66 plays
ABC - 72 plays
AUB - 63 plays
UGA - 53 plays

Also the LEAST amount of 1st down you got in any 1 game was 14. So the defense is not on the field a lot more due to your offense. You're still wrong either way.

Reminds me of the days when Kentucky's leading tackler would always be the safety and we'd cheer about how great our safety was and not mention those were all 30 yards down field

No need to be upset. Looks like Mizzou has a top 40 defense.

To be fair, their offense is ranked 90th.

If only our offense was better. We’re wasting a very solid defense so far this season.

We are 12th in the conference for third down conversion rate (Aub and Vandy behind). Way too many negative yard plays on first and second down for us that create difficult third and longs. Some of that is bad play calling, some of that is a weak o-line, a lot of it is bad QB play.

Too bad they weren't vastly improved for all 4 quarters against UGA or Mizzou could have really made a statement.
