Ole Miss will beat at least one team they shouldn't. They have a good lines on both sides of the ball, a couple of good running backs, and a good x's and o's coach. This sets up as Nutt's kind of team.

I'll agree with many on here that Tennessee is capable of doing some damage, especially since they do not play LSU this year. But I'm a bit uneasy with them as my pick due to having a new QB, and losses of Mayo and more importantly Cutcliff.

Biggest loss for UT, player or otherwise. Losing Trooper Taylor also won't help with recruiting. But I still think UT is a sleeper this year.

Tennessee could win the SEC East.

Jonathan Crompton is a HUGE upgrade from Erik Ainge. Look at the highlights from LSU/Tenn 06. Plus, while he is a "new" quarterback, he has a lot of experience. AND, Arian Foster might be the best back in the SEC East... Moreno could turn out to be the next Justin Vincent (even though he is still a warrior.)

I'm telling you, look out for the Vols in 08. Not just a sleeper for the SEC, but a dark horse for the National Title picture.

Apparently it's a good thing we don't play Texas Tech though.

I think we'll be okay this year with our D line being our biggest concern. There is simply no depth there at all.

Of course the season hinges on the Florida game which we haven't won the past three years. The UCLA game can't get here soon enough.

BAMA will beat somebody that they are not supose to beat and I think it will be Georgia.

That could be said about Western Kentucky and Arkansas State considering how bad ya'll suck.

Anyways, look out for Tennessee and Ole Miss. Crompton is a more than capable QB with some good weapons around him, and a VERY veteran defense. Ole Miss has some decent playmakers on offense and a nice defensive line when healthy. I was a lot higher on them a few months ago than now, but I'd still roll with Tenn and Ole Miss as the sleepers.

Ole Miss and Tennessee will be very dangerous to all the top teams in the SEC.

what he said. Houston Nutt has a few players to scrum with, and that is scary. Please don't give me the "he had D-Mac" stuff, across the board he has more talent at Ole Miss right now than he did at Arkansas at any one time. Alabamas coach thinks he's one of the best and i've watched him make a couple of SECCG runs with less overall talent. It is a bit scary, imo.

I thought this would be interesting to look at again now......I have to admit, I was thinking Ole Miss was the sleeper team this year and so far they've been up and down. I never did understand the Tennessee talk.........

Pretty amazing how just about everything everyone said back in August turned out to be wrong. UT sucks; Auburn sucks; USC lost to UGA; Ole Miss is decent; and Vandy was so far off the radar no one even mentioned them.

WRONG ! Vandy ? Ole Miss ?

AU and LSU will battle for the west

AU

bama and state will fight it out for third with 7-5 or 8-4 records

So Bama only wins 1 or 2 more games this year ?

quote:

and arkansas and ole miss will bring up the rear

Arkansas good call. Ole Miss, not so fast !

quote:

in the east uf and uga will battle it out,

WRONG !

UK will rejoin Vandy at the bottom.

At this point, Bama winning against any of them would not be an upset. Ole Miss seems to play just to mess up someone's chances.
