I just had a chance to look @ the entire bracket for the SEC tourney and they have screwed it up again. I understand single elimination on the Tuesday games because those are viewed as marginal teams that are playing their way into the double elimination tournament. But if LSU or Ark and TAMU
or Miss St. win today they will go undefeated into games 15 & 16 on Sat. in a single elimination game. Let's use LSU for example. LSU beats Ark today.Ark(or 1 loss Bama Or Miss) wins tomorrow & plays us again Sat. They beat us. LSU is out even though we split w/Ark?????? SEC plays 4 games on Tues., Wed.Thurs, & only 2 on Fri, Sat, so there is plenty of time to do a play-off if necessary in both brackets. I would hate this if it happens to any team, not just mine.
As screwed up as the NCAA can be they have gotten this right. The regionals, super regionals ,CWS tourney & finals are all double elimination the whole way thru!!!
Even if this is a TV thing , we are not being televised by prime time TV anyway . If necessary
don't televise those 1 or 2 games. Make it fair!!

I'm pretty sure the only single elimination game after the opening round is the championship.
If you go through the winner's bracket and lose, you immediately play another.

It is bullshite -- presumably to try to save arms in favor of declaring a true tournament champion...

Look @ the brackets . They actually list games 15 & 16 as single elimination even if you are undefeated. The championship game is # 17. There is
no other game scheduled if an undefeated team loses it's 1st game on Sat. in 15 or 16. They are out w/1 loss.!!!

It's in the best interest of the student athletes to have it this way. No need to increase the risk of injury for what is pretty much a meaningless title.

Fine by me. I don't wanna have to lose twice to go home. Either lose once and go home or win the tourney at this point. We've gotten everyone some good experience and work.

SEC has really screwed up this whole tournament.
We need to go back to an 8-team tourney modeled identical to the CWS. I'm okay with a 1-game championship game (as opposed to 3 in the CWS), but everything else needs to be identical to the CWS bracket. The SEC tournament should be "practice" for the big dance, and the current setup is just crap and irrelevant. It's not even good "practice."
And even though your post was somewhat incoherent, I totally agree with you... Single-elimination in the semifinals is ridiculous. Why even play the tournament if we're going to just go through the motions and not do it right?

It makes perfect sense from an "LSU has to always beat Alabama twice to win" perspective.
Rematches. Love em.

Well the obvious advantage to winning the first 2 games is that you have that day off on Friday and don't have to waste your best pitcher (still available) on Friday just trying to get to Saturday somehow. If your team can do all that and win on Saturday then I guess they have earned it. And like somebody else said, no reason playing that extra game Saturday for a rather meaningless tournament.

honestly this.
If you had double elimination they could play 6 games in 5 days heading into the real part of the season. And if you have a game like MSU did to start it off, you are killing your team. Five in five is bad enough.
If you don't like this format, you may like the Big 12's pool system. Basically you put 4 teams on each side that play round robin. Best record advances to final. It guarantees everyone has 3 games so fans can attend knowing they are getting multiple games and no team plays more than 4 so you aren't killing anyone.
But I actually like this current format honestly and found the Big 12 format to be boring as the games were never do-or-die til Saturday
