And Florida plays in the SEC East

Well I am up for Arkansas to play Missouri in any sport any time and I would never be concerned about losing

It makes sense Auburn had the shortest before and Bama now. Both are centrally located and adding two schools to the west simplely moved the center mass more western.

As large as it now is, the SEC is still more compact than the B1G.

Nebraska to New Jersey, or Nebraska to Maryland. That kinda blows my mind.

The SEC is without a doubt the most regional league out of everyone except maybe the ACC.

MrSEC agrees

Yeah, Pac is vast, too. ACC was, except now its Boston to Miami.

ETA: I guess now its upstate NY to Miami.

If I had my way we wouldn't even let trash like you in the state. A bama fan throwing around the hillbilly term is laughable.

Illustrates how ridiculous the plan for aTm and USC to play every year. They're nearly 1000 miles away from each other.

6-2 would sure be a lot more fun for everybody!

When split into East/West divisions and using your numbers I get

1 Missouri 578
2 Florida 505
3 Texas A&M 477
4 Arkansas 407
5 Auburn 359
6 South Carolina 345
7 Kentucky 329
8 LSU 320
9 Vanderbilt 305
10 Georgia 288
11 Tennessee 269
12 Alabama 265
13 Ole Miss 254
14 Mississippi State 239

Some East schools are skewed upwards by Missouri, Florida in particular.

Interesting. Your list clearly shows why auburn and missouri need to be switched. They would both decrease their average distance

This shows how out of place Missouri and Auburn are:

Auburn avg distance from west schools: 359 miles
Missouri avg distance to east schools: 578 miles

Flip flop Missouri and Auburn and:

Auburn avg distance from east schools: 265 miles
Missouri avg distance to west schools: 448 miles

Auburn is 94 miles closer on avg to the east division, Missouri is 130 miles closer on avg to the west division

Yup. I thought when us newbies were invited it was crazy to put Mizzou in the East. I understand why it was done, but it's still crazy.
