Why is Notre Dame considered a quality win and LSU is a “?”?

Because it’s pretty clear ND is better. ND lost close games to Miami and A&M, and have a good win against USC.

LSU were soundly beaten by Vandy and Ole Miss, and their best win is probably UF.

LSU a quality win?

Notre Dame a quality win?

Theres a reason the college football committee rankings don't come out until November. None of this ap bullshite and ignorant coaches poll mean a thing.

ND will finish 10-2 and in the playoffs, and beat a 5-1 USC team by 10 this last weekend.

It really does feel like a lot of yall have never watched ND play.

Funny thing about the English language. Two words can be spelled the same way. Sometimes it requires reading comprehension skills to discern the meaning of words.

What I don't get is why some folks think that if a team suddenly loses then they are garbage and everyone that beat them is suddenly garbage, as you put it..."by extension". Take Tennessee for instance. The minute they got beat by Bama, everyone suddenly started devaluing UGA's win over them as though they were bog-sludge all alone. Is it entirely possible that instead of thinking that all of these SEC teams were phonies all alone after they lose, that maybe, just maybe....the SEC is just really, really good and when really, really good teams have to play each other...ie; Bama / Tenn, UGA / Ole Miss, etc. SOMEONE has to lose...???

I'm actually a fan of Notre Dame football. With that said, they don't belong in the Top 25. The bias in ranking them is nauseating. They were the only team with 2 losses in the Top 25 until this week. The other two loss teams are at the bottom of the Top 25 while Notre Dame sits ridiculously at Number 12!

I just checked and A&M is ranked higher than Georgia or Ole Miss.

What are you talking about? Are we all suppose to bow, call it a season and put you in the SECCG vs. Bama now?

Season is not done and no one has played well enough to assume they will win out.

OK yeah sure, just like it’s pretty clear UGA is better than A&M.

All you have to do is, you know, watch the games. Watch the execution

Perhaps, and perhaps not. We will not know for a few weeks.

I agree not 1 team really stands out just yet anyway.
NIL has prevented a few teams from benching all the talent it’s more evenly spread out

How is Notre Dame a quality win, when Notre Dame has no quality wins?

Alabama clearly has the best resume of quality wins, even though they have one of the worst losses. I think being game 1 excuses that a bit.

Notre Dame is ranked #4 in the F+ power ratings.

They are ranked high in computer power rankings which have 0 bias to them at all.

Just because a team loses a game doesn't mean they suck. Sure, you do count the game against them when it comes to ranking the teams, but if you are talking about actual team strength, then simply winning or losing doesn't really tell the picture.

Let's say you play a top 5 team. You lose, but it's close. If you played another top team close like that, then you are likely also a top team(unless you shite the bed elsewhere, then you assume the top team just had a bad night etc).

Notre Dame has 2 losses. One against Miami and the other against Texas A&M. 4 points total between those loses. That means Notre Dame is somewhat comparable to those teams.

If a team was to play a schedule of 12 games, and they play the teams 1-12 somehow. Just the most brutal schedule possible. If they go 0-12 while losing them all by 3 points or less, does that mean they are the worst team in college football? Unlikely, they are probably in the top15, maybe even top 10 as crazy as that may sound.

But of course, as far as season rank goes, you'd never rank that 0-12 team. You can still recognize the power/strength of the team though.

And for the record, I hate Notre Dame and would love nothing more than to shite on them. But this is the reality.

It's not irony. Resume might have French origin but that doesn't mean it's not a word in the English language.
