Reliford was a potential starter at DE and Anding was competing for the 3rd CB spot. These were guys who were going to be heavy contributors but got injured in spring and are out for the season.

Long story short; when it looked like we were going to roster these players they had the votes
once we didn’t they, enough CEOs were satisfied and they didn’t have the votes to do anything.

So you let them know real quick you weren't gonna roster the players and you didn't roster players your coach said he intended to recruit and enrolled at LSU. You showed them hoss. Big League.
Posted on 9/11/26 at 1:31 am to JudgeHolden
So you rostered the players?
The way I see it is that LSU tried to roster a couple players that had been in pro camp.
SEC threatened serious action
LSU didn't roster them
SEC didn't back off
LSU rostered 2 more players that hadn't been in pro camp closing the door on the whole guys coming back from the NFL deal.
On what planet did LSU "Dog Walk" the SEC. SEC got their desired outcome and LSU understands going forward this sort of thing will be taken seriously. Seems like LSU gave up rostering the 2 players the SEC had beef with and the SEC gave up, well...nothing.
Sure there is a lot of talking from both sides, but only one gave something up.

Really?
Sankey got humiliated in court on the stand. He childishly threatens to kick LSU out or sanction them. And . . .
He lacks the votes to do a goddam thing. Nothing.
The surest way to lose power is to show conclusively you don’t have it. Sankey doesn’t, and that is now glaringly obvious.

It seems he and the rest of the conference wanted the issue of the 2 players that had been with pro teams put to bed. You filled out your 105 man roster with other players and put it to bed. You can talk subjective and people being humiliated all you want. You have no idea on any of that. What we do know is that LSU wanted something. The rest of the SEC was against that. Who got what they want? Seems like Sankey won on the core issue here, not LSU. You don't have those 2 players and the book has been closed on them.

I’m sorry you are too dim to understand power.

I ask again, which side gave up something? You assume to understand how the minds of these powerbrokers in the conference work. I don't think you do. Again:
LSU wanted something.
SEC said No
LSU backed down for a game and tried to kick the can down the road
SEC said not good enough
LSU gave up on rostering the 2 players
Those are the facts of this. What power have you gained here? If anything you have galvanized the rest of the conference which cant understand why you have no interest in following rules you supported.
Also the SEC has interjected the phrase "lack of institutional control" into the discussion
But I ask again, what did LSU give up and what did the SEC give up? Can you answer that?

For one, the SEC is going to pay some players a lot of money for fricking them over for no real reason. That’s what they give up, for now. Money.
If the SEC pursues their federal lawsuit, they may wind up being forced to rewrite their bylaws after a permanent injunction & will be left without even an illusion of power.
If the SEC doesn’t pursue their federal lawsuit, the players may still expose the same antitrust issue / same catastrophic result for the conference.
LSU would prefer not to sue the SEC and dismantle CFB, but if the SEC wants to get sued by LSU… the conference will be fricked on multiple fronts.
The hypocrisy has been transparent & no one is going to accept a model where you can play politics to levy penalties without evidence or arbitration.
The conference looks dumb as shite.

I'm sorry...you think the SEC doesn't have some petty cash to throw at a couple players to preserve a principal that 15 of the 16 schools seem to feel really strongly about? Assuming that once those cases get appealed thoser players get anything? You keep asking "what rules did Lane break"? I'd counter with "what penalties did the SEC levy" They made threats and got what they wanted. You going to sue them for not levying penalties? They made threats and you backed off. As to the part about politics and levying penalties...you must be new to the conference.
And I don't think the conference gives a rip how they look to a group of people that for the most part never even attended a member institution. Sankey works for 16 people. You aren't one of them.

Why leave two spots open? Answer: To possibly add two players your coach recruited and had enrolled as students at LSU who had signed NFL contracts.
What did the SEC demand you do? Fill that roster with 105 so you couldn't add those players at all this season.
Did LSu do it? Yes.
Can you add players your coach said he was recruiting, had enrolled at LSU, and still wanted to add? No.
Are those facts or are they not? Those are facts.
Could you add those two players to your roster before Wednesday? Yes.
Can you add them now? No.
It's very, very simple.

What did you want? What did the SEC want?
You wanted to add two players who had signed NFL contracts.
Your coach said he was going to sign them.
They had enrolled at your school.
You saved two roster spots for them to add later.
Did you get what you wanted?
What did the SEC want?
Zero SEC teams rostering NFL players who had signed NFL contracts.
Could you have rostered these players before Wednesday? Yes.
Can you roster them now? No.
How many SEC teams can roster NFL players who have signed NFL contracts? Zero.
It's clear who got what they wanted.

Let's see
Fact
We did leave two spots open since we did not have anyone to fill them other than two guys who are injured and out for the season.
We did in fact fill those spots with those 2 players who cannot contribute this year.
Supposition
Every single thing you wrote. You have zero proof as to any of that and neither does the SEC. This is why the SEC and you have egg on your face.
Take the L dawg. Take the L

Other facts you leave out:
1. Coach publicly stated he was going after players who had been cut from NFL preseason rosters who had signed NFL contracts.
2. Coach indeed recruited and had two players enrolled.
3. Coach left two spots open on roster not by coincidence.
Q: If these players were never gonna be rostered, why did your coach say he was going to recruit them, indeed did recruit them and had them enroll at LSU?
Kiffin: "At the end of the day, because of these rulings, they’re either going to play for you or they’re going to play for someone else around the country, so we’ve made the decision to recruit them like probably most people are."
After consulting his player leadership committee about adding late-arriving players coming off NFL rosters, Kiffin said, "Every one of them was emphatic about, 'If they can help us win, bring 'em.'" He added that a player told him, "This is how it works at the next level, and this is how the real world works," which helped ease his doubts about the controversial move.
I would also point out that Kiffin never said while his roster was at 103 that he would not add these players at a later date.
“I believe you fight for what you believe in, and I believe these kids have a right to play just like all the other kids around the country that are winning court cases and being put on rosters,” Kiffin said. “But, at the same time, I’m the head coach of LSU and I had to make a decision that is for the big picture of LSU and the LSU football program.”
Later in the game that night he again mentioned the players he wanted to add to the roster: "Imagine if we had pro players."
You said you are now rostering injured players that are inactive as if this is something unusual. I doubt there is one team that doesn't have this situation. College football doesn't have an IR. I know our team currently has players rostered that can not play this coming Saturday or in at least one case, the whole 2026 season.
