This seems about right for us. Our pitching staff should be second to none. Unfortunately we must replace several position players. We will probably start slow but finish fast.
When you post an SEC record-breaking 26 wins to only 3 losses, and become the first SEC team to ever win all 10 series, momentum can also be a factor in the upcoming season.

Okay....State's baseball program is mediocre. You have 3 winning conference seasons in the last 12 years.
You've been passed in the conference pecking order by South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida, and Vanderbilt.
Congrats on finishing 2nd a year ago. You now join the ranks of South Carolina, LSU, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida, Alabama for making the championship series.
State has been to the CWS twice in over 15 years.....
South Carolina and LSU have been 6 times in that frame....Florida 4 times....Georgia 4 times....Arkansas 3 times
South Carolina and Arkansas have the longest streaks of participating in the NCAA tourney in the league...
Bottom line....No State fan on this board knows how to handle any type of success. You've never seen it in your lifetime. It's understandable, but getting quite annoying.
Your fan base is the only one here who brags about being 2nd place.

Convenient start date -- directly after we went to Omaha back-to-back.
Since the 1992 expansion when you joined the conference, MSU has been to Omaha 4 times -- and you've been 3. Thanks for providing the lulz though.
The real hilarity is that our last coach quit winning on the level that we will going forward in 1990.

In baseball you can't go off one series. shite happens in baseball. And we had a much tougher SEC schedule than Arkansas did.

Arkansas has been to 12 straight NCAAs. 2 CWS in the last 4 years. 5 Super Regionals(2002, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2012)since 2002.

We made the NCAA tournament in 99, 00, 01,03,04, 05, 06, 07 then Polk just dropped way off to the point where we had to get rid of him. He was a legendary coach who was still bringing moderate success where we couldn't make a coaching change up until after the 07 season.
We also made Super Regionals in 2000, 2001. We won the SEC tourney in 2001, 2005. We made the CWS in 07, also in 97,98 right before your cherry picked dates.
We weren't rebuilding until after the 07 season. Now since those 3 rebuilding years we have gone to 2 supers, 1 CWS final, 1 SEC tourney championship, and another NCAA tournament appearance.
Nice try, but until Arkansas has more major accomplishments in any category than state, you have not surpassed us in the pecking order, just because you had some good years during our few bad years. That would be like saying South Carolina has surpassed Tennessee in football.

Considering the state of MSU basketball at the moment, I'm not going down that road. 
Arkansas definitely has State beat as far as basketball programs go.
