Stewart started at A&M and won the Big 12 Championship in ‘98.

Maty Mauk. Came in for spot work his freshman year and looked really good and that was the best version of him.

Michael Dyer looked so promising as a freshman.

Antonio "AC" Carter. It was due to injuries, but he was a hell of player.

Yeah, but he got addicted to crack
ETA: He’s actually a really cool story now. He’s turned his life around and has been clean for a long time. He’s a QB coach and is active on UGA message boards. He talks to current players about how drugs ruined his career.

I don't think Grant fell off. Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson came in as elite running backs and were simply way better.

Freddie Milons. At least I think it was his freshman year. Dude balled out in '99 and started 2000 with a bang... for one play. Didn't do much after that.

Prince Hall. Dude was a stud his freshman year under Shula IMO and then fell off a fricking map when Saban got here and tighten the ship

Jamaar chase
Good as an underclassman. Not so much as an upperclassman.

2006 49 solo, 28 asts 77 total tackles, 2 sacks, and fumble return for 50 yrds and a td, 11.0 tackles for losses
2007 (enter Saban) 29 solo, 29 asts, 58 total, 0.5 sacks, 0.5 tackles for loss and an int for 10 yard
2008 (after Saban's first full recuiting class) 7solo, 10 asts, 17 total, 0.5 sacks, 2 tackles for loss
yep, he peaked his freshman year, not on the team for his senior year, Saban done made his arse quit.

593 yards and 5 TDs is a good freshman season. He also logged 800 return yards
