Nah man. We will end the IB before UGA.

I just don't see how we play an SEC season without AU/UGA.

Picking the two best conference records when each team only plays 50% of the conference is so buttfricking retarded

Yup. This was my beef with those wanting to expand to 20. At some point you just create 4 pods and take those winners and do a final four.

frick them. Can’t let this happen.

We’ve played you every year since 1892 with the exception of 5 years. Last time we didn’t play was 1943

You will take your UGa-Oklahoma rivalry and like it.

But seriously, way to go SEC/Sankey if you end decades and centuries of tradition because of your precious expansion. The ULTIMATE example of money ruining things.

UGA and Au should play anyway

This expansion just sucks. They sold out tradition for more money and then didn't even get the contract buttoned up. Should all be fired with no golden parachutes.

I’ve thought about this but don’t know if it would be allowed.

Instead of scheduling a OOC opponent, schedule another sec team in years when they aren’t on the schedule and don’t make it count as an sec game.

The SEC allowed it before.

I don’t care if it done in the damn spring. Hell play it at Piedmont Park in Atlanta in February like they did in 1892. One of the schools we are adding (OU) had never even enrolled a student when we first played AU in football. It’s ridiculous.

I agree with you completely, but the SEC has such a weird history with scheduling it might be a big deal to us today but looking at the larger picture it isn't abnormal.

LSU and Bama have only played in 69% of the 127 years that the two schools could have played each other since the start of the series. 40 seasons of not playing each other.

Kentucky and LSU didn't play until 1949 and then played each other most years of the 50's thru the 90's.

Again I agree, but the conference scheduling that we know today is really the exception not the rule.

The schools themselves handled conference scheduling until the 80s. The SEC only mandated they play a certain number of games.

I would prefer 4 four team divisions with each of the four division winners playing a four team playoff. I bet ESPN would pay for two SEC semi final games.

Hasn't that been brutal for Arkansas?

They’ve pretty much said, from what different media were saying on XM today. That the 8 games were just for 2024 so far. Also, that the “ major rivalries” would remain that season.

Potential go to 9 (3&6) in 2025 once they see how the playoff expansion goes.

Also, they had not really planned for OU and Texas in 2024. The SEC was going to be in the hook for a lot of non Conf buy outs.

This. There will be some lucky beneficiaries of an easy schedule

How do you figure? The SEC added OU and Texas. If you miss Bama, UGA etc.. chances are you're picking up one if not both OU and Texas. Depending on which school it is, that could make for some travel time too.
