That'd be harsh to all the students who wanted to go that wouldn't have done that because those students requested the tickets first.

The fine is to set precedent so that if they don’t ban the students they have a basis for increasing the penalties. They will audit them and if they don’t comply they will fine them again, and again, and again until they comply.
It’s a power move plain and simple.

Shouldn't it be a harsh penalty that fricks the whole group to discourage it from happening again? I agree there's probably a ton of students who didn't do shite that'd get screwed by it. But the good apples aren't likely to tolerate it knowing they could get put out again.

Idk. It would suck to spend the $200 for the package for games you are not even guaranteed to get a ticket to, to then banned from even going to one of those game.

How do you know? You weren’t a student, correct?

I graduated from Texas recently. I know exactly how the student ticket system works. and it is atrocious.

Definitely better than how it was for the 2019 game against LSU, but students still get first come first serve seating even if they are able to successfully get a ticket during home game weeks.

I hope the SEC is hiring Mossad's Facial Recognition Technology to identify those fools!

Yes it would. Which is why it would send a message. If it didn’t suck, it would be meaningless and they would believe they could do it again.

Which is why they will require reporting of those who are banned.

I get what you are saying, but I still don't know if I agree or not. If they actually ban the students that did it, it should be enough.

In the moment I’m sure they would have gladly paid $250k to get that PI call reversed

It was a terrible call. I saw highlights today and it was bad.

That's a bunch of bullshite. Should be no penalty whatsoever at this point. If Refs didn't do anything during the game and should have... that is 100% on them. Suspend them. How can Texas be given a fine for something that the refs didn't throw a flag for.

We will fine Texas for some bullshite and ignore the abortion on the field that was the umpire crew.

LSU fans have been saying it but the SEC office is some kind of fricked up.

I don’t think the monetary fine will have as much impact as will the banning of those found to have engaged in the behavior from any additional athletic events—not just football games—for the remainder of the academic year.

Banning fans that break rules is the only way. It works for all the pro sports leagues, and it works in college when enforced. If they actually wanted to stop field/court storming, it would work for that too.

247 discussion said it wasn’t only the students, and did make it to Georgia’s bench. “Only the students” is a blatant lie.

Reported it was started by fans behind the Georgia bench and then the students did it.

LSU fans mistake terrible all around officiating as bad officiating only directed at LSU. LSU has benefitted just as every team has at one point by the atrocious SEC officiating

this really does feel very little brother of you to bring up and keep saying "i told you the sec would hold you accountable"

it's like you're running up to your older brother sniffling from tears of joy that mom finally punished him

Where have I said that?

We aren’t their brothers—big, little, step, or otherwise.
How/why this is supposed to be an insult is lost on me.
