It's just a shame it has to be linked to that crap bag of a station ESPN. It stands alone as far as I'm concerned.

Get rid of Paul Finebaum.

Texas AnM and Mizzou brought all that revenue.

That could be the future
If ESPN craps out, SEC could acquire a substantial ownership interest and cut out the middleman. Hopefully if they did so, the first thing would to be the reduction or elimination of the PF show.

Finebaum sucks arse and as much as I hate E!SPN - they air it b/c it's so cheap to produce - much like their other bullshite on E!SPN. Same reason MTV, HGTV, CMT, Discovery all show those stupid as hell reality shows - CHEAP to produce.
As much as I'd love a show on SEC Network where someone truly breaks down baseball, football, men's basketball for 4 hours- that would be so expensive and few people would watch because
a) who that has a job watches TV from 1-5PM?
b) most people don't really like sports
c) most SEC fans are hicks that only care about football

SECN+ at A&M kind of sucked. I assume the audio was from their radio feed. Camera angles often missed important stuff. But, it's still better than just radio.

Believe we could be making twice as much money if we hadn't "partnered" with ESPN.

Espn is taking that money though. They are a huge help in distributing and getting high rates. What matters is what the schools get

Wow. More than ten times the value of the PAC 12 Network.

It's because it's actually about sports and not Marxists yelling about what's racist and who has the best outfit.
ETA: And because SEC sports are much better than any other conference's and we actually support them

Why is viewership down on the SEC network?

That's both true and not true.
Initially we needed the partnership in order to learn the ropes.
By the time this current contract runs its course we will, if we are so inclined, have the money banked to launch our own independent network and we will have the knowledge and the resume, along with the financials, to go to the bank for any start-up costs and operating expenses.
$69.95 a year or $9.95 a month per subscriber is a lot more than we are being paid now ... but the mess with current conventional providers in addition to our footprint upgrading it's pipe to above 30 mps average download speed, require that we have patience, that we stay the course and that we keep our word and continue to grow as a network during the entire course of this current contract.
Right now we are ESPN'S cash cow and we need to continue to be.
But I agree we're worth twice as much as they are claiming in the article ... ESPN is actually holding us back.

Liking more than one sport doesn't make you smarter than anyone. I say that as a person who follows all Alabama sports.

This is why I think that if the SEC does expand to 16 it really needs to focus on adding strong basketball programs. The SEC is pretty set on football. Adding a couple more good basketball teams would strengthen content I think more than a couple more good football teams.

A Killz podcast would be better than PF.
Just sayin'.

The football commentating has taken a turn toward being even shittier since Tebow left.
Booger needs to be run off. He has an agenda and I haven't heard an original thought from him in a long time.
When the NFL #1 draft pick refuses to interview with Booger, that is a big red flag.

:kige:
I lieu of PF they could show some educational stuff in the slot from each of the 14 schools. Cheap to produce - cost bound by each school - and would help the IO curve of the fans. Everybody wins!

I can honestly say I love the network! Trying to watch a different conference is painful as hell.
It's evolving still and will only get better.
