Ok, Saban sure does recruit hard in a state that you think is composed of pussies.

So you're saying he has to beat that out of them after they enroll?

Are you suggesting Hazing? Sounds like a potential investigation.

The Peterson call? I will agree it did look like he was inbounds, but do you really think LSU would have won the game? In my opinion, if you get that call it would have lead to a jarrett lee interception. He just had a problem with that, although the next year he did sort of redeem himself with that 3rd and like 17 throw he made within the last 1:30 to seal the game for LSU.

If the offices ever move and they should!

It will never be DFW. The only 2 cities would be Atlanta or Charlotte.

And Charlotte would probably be the favorite , because of the SECN.

It will never be Atlanta. If it moves it's going to a market they want more influence in.

You have no idea what your talking about. Expansion into future markets is one thing. Moving the offices there will not happen. It will never be in TX. The only reason it won't be Atlanta is to have them near the Network. That's the only reason. Atlanta is the Capitol of college football, it just is. Me CFHOF, hosts the biggest Conf Champ Game, in the new rotation for semi finals, will get a future title game, new billion dollar stadium. Less than 4 hours from, Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Athens, Knoxville, Nashville, & Columbia, SC, And only 5 from Lexington, Gainesville, Starkville, and Oxford.

While its great to have Texas market in the conf, as well as a school like A&M. It is not all about Texas as you may believe. It's just not.

They should move the offices to Atlanta. Its probably the most international city that's part of the SEC and really doesn't owe any allegiance to any team in particular.

FWIW the Ole Miss representatives can skype in for the meetings since they can't find their way there.

I'm NOT making it about Texas.

Once again, if it moves, which I am not saying it will, it's not going to an area where they have the market locked up.

It's going to go somewhere that they want more influence which they would accomplish with the nearly week long media days.

There are only a few places that qualify for that, DFW is one of those. It wouldn't be in Houston b/c its already locked up via A&M and LSU. DFW isn't b/c of ho many alumni from different schools live here. Charlotte would be ahead of them sure but I think DFW would have a chance b/c Jerry would put out a strong offer.

Sorry that hurts your butt.

I am not a Houston homer and do not live in Texas or in any of the states the cities mentioned are located.

But what is the problem with having the office in the 5th largest city in the US.

Stop thinking about how long of drive it is from a school.

No school drives they fly. No fans go to the SEC office. In fact flying to a major city is easy.

It about getting quality unbiased personel. But the SEC Network office is probablly a good choice even without a SEC team.

It doesn't hurt me at all , your just delusional. Foot print I'd one thing. But it makes absolutely no sense to put anywhere in Texas. It's like moving the US capital to New Mexico , to strengthen border control. The SEC offices do not have to move to Texas to lock up Texas , just have to add UT. But that's not gonna happen. Like U said before IF they move it would probably be Charlotte. But Atlanta makes the most sense.

I don't think the HQ's need to move from Birmingham. It's a good central location and moving would be an unnecessary expense. I do think the SEC needs to focus on getting more diversity in higher up positions in terms of where people are from and where they went to undergrad.

The problem we are facing now is that back in the 80's, a low level job at the SEC HQ was not a very prestigious or high paying position. Few would be willing to move from another state to take those jobs. Therefore, the vast majority of people filling those jobs were Birmingham natives. Now, those employees have been there for 20 or 30 years and are the executives in what is now a very large company in charge of billions in revenue. They need to start phasing these guys out with forced/early retirement, etc and hiring unbiased people from all over the country to work there.

If they move it at all, this would be by far the most logical choice in terms of having the overall image/brand of the SEC working on the same page. The SEC Network and the SEC HQ's need to have very easy access to each other.

I think you are really missing my point.

Texas is essentially multiple major markets.

The two biggest are DFW and Houston.

DFW has around 6.5 million people in it. It's population is bigger than every SEC state save for Florida and Georgia.

Houston is pretty much locked up at this point b/c it's the major hub for A&M and LSU alumni.

DFW does not have the same SEC presence. As I said before, there are several Big 12 schools plus SMU all vying for attention.

The SEC Network is not going to be as easy a sell to the cable companies here as it will be in Houston. It just won't be.

Putting the SEC HQ in JerryWorld would help sell the network b/c Jerry would go into overdrive to promote it. It would go a long way with the local press here as well. Right now we really don't get that much SEC coverage. It's mostly Texas and OU. Changing that is going to take more than the occasional kickoff game at JerryWorld.

SEC media days hosted by Jerry Jones at Cowboys Stadium alone would completely change the nature of the coverage here. It would drive more and more people to want the SECN, watch SEC games on ESPN, and want to go to SEC schools.

Again, its not delusion. It's looking at cold hard facts. The SEC is driven by finding new revenue sources and market expansion now. Moving the HQ to Atlanta, a market that is sewn up long term is a complete waste.

Yes, Charlotte is a more likely destination b/c of their desire to move into North Carolina but DFW is large enough, and important enough to the SECN's future earnings that it would be considered as a landing point.

Again, sorry that you don't like it but a central location is not that important to conference HQ these days.

Texas as HQ is out, period. We did not invite Texas AM to the SEC so that the Southeast could become Texas-centric.
