So many fans dislike analyst and play by play guys purely based on their personality or homerism to their team.
I know this won’t be a popular comment. But give me a Gmac, Gary D or Todd Blackledge any day of the week. Those guys know the game and generally are talking above the average fans overall knowledge of the sport. I love listening to them break down what is happening in game as if they are on the field themselves processing each play and what comes next.

This is wrong. For a guy that started at bama and played in the nfl, it amazes me that he can’t tell the difference between power, counter, zone cut and inside zone when calling a game.

Bama fans dumping on GMac is kind of shameful. While not a physically gifted QB, he did lead the program out of the dark ages by being smart and doing what was asked of him.
When he first went into the booth, he showed he was very knowledgeable about the game, but he was uncomfortable talking about Bama, afraid to come off as a homer. He has settled down a lot on that front and will even let a little homerism show once in a while. I think he is a great analyst.
Only time will tell if Kelly is a good hire at LSU.
