SEC is still the best.

All General Lee joking aside...
The SEC is still the best conference this year.
Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Missouri, & Auburn are undefeated...
Tenn lost to a good Florida team
Florida lost to a really good Utah team
LSU lost to a really good Seminole squad.
A&M lost to a good Miami team.
Bama lost to a very good Texas team
State lost to a very good LSU team.
Vandy is doing the usual...
Even South Carolina, the only losing record in the SEC looks good...losses to NC and Georgia aren't awful.
We all know that the Transfer Portal and NIL were created to equalize or spread out the talent and you are seeing that this year. Case in point...via the rankings the PAC 12 looks like the best conference this year but if they went head to head would they be??? NO..
Georgia-USC, LSU-Oregon, Bama-Washington, Tenn-Utah, Florida-UCLA, Ole Miss-Colorado, Auburn-Washington State, Oregon State-A&M...the PAC 12 might win two of those games at best.
It's still the SEC and yes, even though my General Lee posts are directed at two posters on here, I enjoy watching the SEC and all conferences in college football.

Appreciate the thought, but I'm not convinced. Maybe some teams will get it together and come on strong as the season progresses (*ahem* BAMA *ahem*) but I'm not holding my breath. It's hard to know who the true powers in college football are this year. Which, admittedly, means that it should be especially fun to watch things play out down the stretch.
As an aside, I'm pulling for Penn State to win the B1G and make the playoffs this year. It's boring watching Michigan and Ohio State be the same two teams at the end every season. Some change would be nice.

Thanks for the support...I don't see the defense being able to stop Michigan's running game again this year...they might actually set a B1G rushing record in that game as weak as our interior defense is this year.

Won’t call them really good. I would say a decent team on the road to start the season can be tough. UF & UTk are going to lose some games this year.

Solid post
This is the full effects of the portal especially on the depth chart. Recruiting HS will still be important but recruiting the portal is now a must. With Colorado’s transformation, coaches are going to start using it more.
The biggest issue I have is that it has killed the concept of commitment from both the players and coaches but at the same time begs the question… was it ever there in the first place?

SEC hasn't looked great so far but the best conference isn't decided in Sept. It's decided in Dec-Jan. And in Dec.-Jan. the SEC is King of Kings until proven otherwise

The SEC is still the most talented. But every team in this league has issues.
It’s quite clear the league lacks quarterbacks. There are some talented guys, some young guys, some gifted guys that lack confidence, and some that just dont have it.
Longer games benefit better teams with better depth. You shorten the game, you shrink the sample size and fewer iterations produce a higher likelyhood of underdog victories.
We may see an out of nowhere NC this year.
