If a player is banned from transferring within the SEC they are effectively blocked from a massive share of the top-tier college athletic market making the restriction a clear antitrust issue.
1) the rule would not say that a player cannot transfer within conference. Only that they can transfer and sit for 1 year. There is no limitation to name, image, and likeness. The local law office can still put your name on a billboard.
2] Eliminating 15 SEC teams from "free transfers" does not mean the player cannot play in the SEC next year. Don't transfer. You are eligible to play right away.
3) Eliminating 15 SEC teams from "free transfer" does not mean the player doesn't have access to other P4 conferences. The BigX has 18 teams with open wallets. 18>15.
A player can only play for 1 team per season. So long as there is 1 team that can use the player's services, no rights have been stripped.
Are we going to get to the point where temporary injunctions get filed after targeting because it limits playing time and potential NIL?
Should injunctions permit players transferring mid-year? A bad gameplan affects targets and that could affect future earnings.

I get the feeling some powerful people want Sankey out because he can’t be this stupid.

Sankey is secretly working for Ohio State, Indiana, and Michigan.

I am not arguing on the merits. But the SCOTUS decision on page 1 says NCAA not SEC. So technically since it never mentioned conferences would that allow SEC to implement? Nowhere in SCOTUS decision does it mention conferences can’t do this or that it says NCAA can’t do this or that.
Am I reading it wrong?

You are going to hurt yourself stretching so far to pretend this doesn’t limit earning potential.

No.
Just wait. Our camp is closest to this, and we have been right every step of the way.
October 13th is the SEC’s deadline to come up with a reason for the Alabama judge not to dismiss the federal suit.
Once that is dismissed the SEC has no shield.
Contempt motions have been filed and are waiting on deck.
Meanwhile, this dumb motherfricker Greg is over here trying to start another battle the NCAA has already lost.
This dude is going to wind up with criminal charges before all is said and done, and it’s going to be hilarious.

SEC has backing of all outside conferences with this stupid policy which ultimately undermines SEC.

It’s this, unless it violates antitrust law.
It’s not that complicated. We’ve said it 1000 times: Legitimate rulemaking authority doesn’t empower you to break the law.
Feel free to bookmark this post. The SEC’s federal suit will get tossed 10/13 & then will have no shield against newly pending contempt motion.
We’ll see if they try this gambit while that’s playing out. If Sankey wants to risk jail time maybe.

You don't have to be a monopoly to commit antitrust violations.

The AAC was also a co-defendant with the NCAA vs Alston so yes, the ruling effects conferences as well.

How is a rule refusing a player the opportunity to transfer schools on October an unfair market practice?
