Glad there are a couple of signs of life on the glaringly beta VOLS roster

Tied for 1st in the nation. Not bad at all.
I think he was close to picking 2 more of those.

His one-on-one cover skills and ability to react to throws and not interfere jumps off the screen. That play early against Texas was incredible.

Well, a lot of freshman playing on our defense. Most of them are playing because they have to, not really because they are ready to (especially the 2 LBs). But they're getting better each week, so we'll see where they end up by late October.

Ryan Clark kept raving about him constantly in the off-season. At one point I got tired of hearing him talk because I felt like he just kept making up new ways to compliment his game.
I wasn’t sure if he’d be able to live up to the bar that was set for him during his freshman year. So far so good.
He did allow 4 completions vs Vandy. But I think I can live with that from a freshman.

He’s arguably our best corner already, and I guess by extension he is probably one of the top corners in the country. I’m trying to think of corners other than Fulton who will go high in this year’s draft.
Derek Stingley Jr is very good at football.

Yea - I'm sure like any freshman he will get confused, cover the wrong spot/guy, get broken down by a move, etc......but when he's in position his body control and fluidity are insane. He looked like Gumby or something.

At least 2 of those were with like 10 yard cushions. I only remember him getting truly beat once against vandy. One of the cushions he let the guy get by him and missed the tackle, and I was like, oh dang, that’s his freshman mistake. Then he got back and tackled the guy before the guy even went like 5 yards. He just has an extra gear.

Is he living up to the hype? I haven’t heard much about him but I haven’t really paid attention either.

Burks missed our last game, and we missed him.
We should be better this week.
Our defense will still suck.

I admire the way these guys have stepped up to fill in for missing starters.

He's a been a stud so far. Only being 4 games in, I think he's absolutely lived up to the hype.
What he's shown so far, he could be the best Auburn LB since Karlos Dansby and have that kind of impact by the time he's a JR

I'm pretty confident LSU's defense will be fine once it gets healthy. I'm more concerned LSU isn't utilizing its freshmen RB tandem in Emery and Price more before the schedule gets brutal. it always takes freshmen backs a minute to catch on, and it doesn't feel like they're getting enough reps with Auburn, Florida, Bama, etc coming up. Clyde is a solid #2-3 back for your usual LSU team

Yes. His stats are a little misleading. He has played better than stats show. He is always around the ball. He is ridiculous fast and slips off blockers. He is my favorite Freshman. He will be a Roquan type of player before he is done.

This kid is fun to watch. He’s going to start getting more snaps and targets.

Arkansas has several really good 4* Freshman receivers, we just need Starkel to throw the ball to the right team.
