Jimbo Fisher took LSU’s best quarterback???

SEC football: Ranking projected starting quarterbacks in 2022

quote:

7. MAX JOHNSON, TEXAS A&M (Photo: USA TODAY Sports) Texas A&M enters spring practice in a great situation at quarterback with LSU transfer Max Johnson and Haynes King splitting reps with first-teamers this spring (projected). With Zach Calzada moving on in the transfer portal to Auburn, Jimbo Fisher gets his pick of two talented passers at the position and will have understudy Conner Weigman to groom as a true freshman. Johnson threw 27 touchdown passes at LSU last season as the star of an offense that called more passing plays than they would've liked given the struggles in the run game and up front.

10. MYLES BRENNAN, LSU Myles Brennan (Photo: Derick E. Hingle, USA TODAY Sports) Go ahead and jot it down that Garrett Nussmeier should see plenty of playing time this season at LSU. However, this is Myles Brennan's job to lose under first-year coach Brian Kelly as the headliner of a quarterback room that looks completely different than it did this time a year ago following the transfers of T.J. Finley (auburn) and Max Johnson (Texas A&M). Incoming freshman Walker Howard enters a great situation where he can come in and learn the offense behind two better-than-serviceable options for the Tigers. Brennan's back from injury and ready to perform fully-healthy.

Aggies have told us all offseason that Haynes King would definitely be the starter for the 39ers.

A&M could have 42 5 stars and Cam Newton at QB and they’ll still go 8-4

Hooker can't/won't throw if he gets pressured and tries to escape the pocket. He keeps his head down and doesn't look downfield which could lead to a lot of huge broken plays through the air. Instead either gets sacked or goes for a modest gain on the ground.

Until he is willing to do that I can't really consider him the best. Corral and Young burned us all game keeping plays alive this way.

I don't think he's coached to do this either because Milton was willing to keep his head up when scrambling when he got snaps.
