The commissioner said he wants one big division back in November. The pods caused too many headaches I guess. Two divisions seems workable but has some problems so they moved away from that.

Did he say he wanted 3 constants for all teams?

Two constants in one big division would keep the yearly rivalries alive.

I mean that really is the easiest solution. Put OU in the "East" and Texas in the west and go to a 9 or 10 game SEC schedule.

They have claimed for a while the only 2 plans being considered are:

-8 game conference schedule with only 1 permanent rival for each school
-9 game conference schedule with 3 permanent rivals for each school

With the commissioner pushing the 2nd option. These 2 plans would allow each school to play every other school home and away every four years.

Obviously, other plans are possible, but they supposedly aren't being considered.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear anything "official" until ESPN and the SEC fully work out what increase we will get in our TV contract when we expand. I think we expect to get extra TV money for going to 9 games, but I don't know if they have an agreement with ESPN for the amount.

Thank you I forgot ESPN is paying a large part of the bills. They will have a say in all of this.

Absolutely. Playing South Carolina would be fun, that game has grown on me quickly. But playing against Texas every year would be way better for Mizzou’s recruiting efforts. And we need all the help we can get on that front.

I feel like the Kentucky and SC fanbases are very down to earth and relatable, especially compared to much of the SEC. (maybe not Kentucky at a basketball game) More enjoyable playing them.
By contrast, playing Texas feels like kissing someone who was complaining about having canker sores a week ago.
Plus, a high percentage of the games are competitive.

I’ve grown to enjoy our East schedule over the last decade.

I guess I’d like to keep South Carolina and Florida the most from the East. Tennessee is fun too. Arkansas would also be a good one to retain. Honestly Kentucky has felt like a rival.

Out of Texas and Oklahoma, I don’t know if I care that much if we play one regularly. Probably Texas.

Boomer Sooner fight song will become even more annoying to the SEC than Rocky Top. I was just getting over the flashbacks and will soon have to hear it all over again. I have zero interest in playing texas, they’re insufferable. Love playing South Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky. And Vandy and Ole Miss are great road trips for Missouri.

I’m with you on South Carolina and Arkansas. I feel nothing toward Tennessee or Florida, and they don’t give a shite about Mizzou.

Arkansas - they can deny it but it is growing legit.

South Carolina - funnest series. Battle of Columbia. Weird.

Oklahoma - old fun series. They own us but fans will sell out the stadium even if avg.

Would love to see more compelling match up to end season. But Arkansas has been the gift that keeps on giving since we entered sec.

OU and Mizzou have had some fun games in all sports. Good fans. If we are talknig pods, then I would say arkansas, Oklahoma, South Carolina.

Just my preferences.
