Notre Dame
FSU
Clemson
UNC

Those are the only valuable pieces left imo.

Perhaps Miami is on that list too..

If you have to add a secondary team to get the primary team, I get it.
NC State, Duke, UVA, etc.

The counterargument is that adding less valuable teams helps the overall strength of the conference because you aren't beating each other up every week.. and I get that argument as well.

Hopefully, someone much smarter than me is making those decisions..

NC State is a public state school in a state of 10.5 million. 37K enrollment.

Duke is a private school with 16K enrollment

This is like comparing A&M to Vandy

I guess if A&M were within walking distance of Vandy that would make some sense.

Do yall realize that the university of Miami is a small private school with 19K enrollment? Not even located in Miami it’s in a rich suburb coral gables.

Also on top of that, it’s not like you’re getting a chunk of the Miami metro here. That place doesn’t even support its pro teams let alone a college team.

Then why’d the Big10 feel the need to add the two LA teams and two PNW teams?

They panicked after the SEC got OU and Texas.
Using your logic, adding Texas to the SEC "brings nothing to the table."

UNC/NCSU would have be totally radnom to OU/Texas, but they'd have a lot of interconnection with Tennessee, Carolina, Georgia and eachother.

5/6 past expansion teams have been west of the Mississippi. It’s time to add more south EASTERN teams. This is the southeastern conference yall.

Again, doesn’t get more southeastern than the state of North Carolina. Huge sports state. Booming economy.

One of the problems here with adding UNC is that they are married at the hip to UVA, and also by there is some state law binding them to NCsT, UVA also has to be in the same conf as VT by state law iirc. I’ve read recently that the state of NC makes a billion per year by having the ACC there, they may fight pretty hard to keep UNC and NCsT in the ACC.

UVA and V Tech don’t have to be in the same conference. V Tech and Miami were in the big east till the early 2000’s.

Those “laws” are bullshite and can be bypassed like it’s nothing.

NC State fits more than any other North Carolina or Virginia school. They care about football, UNC UVA don't

I grew up in South Texas, spent 10 years at UT Austin, then moved to North Carolina where I have lived for over 30 years now. It’s a beautiful state, and I now have no need to live anywhere else.

UNC, NC State, and Duke would all be great SEC ads. Quality schools with long histories, and solid sports programs. NC folks are very friendly, and I had absolutely zero cultural transition issues moving from Texas. Plus lots and lots of SEC fans are already here.

The BBQ is a bit different, but I certainly enjoy the sliced pork BBQ plate at Lexington BBQ in Lexington, NC. Plus the more SEC schools within easy driving distance, the more I’ll get to see my Longhorns play…

UNC is a lock. That goes without saying. Beyond that the options are NC State and Duke.

We would probably go for Woke Forrest...

I heard an interesting comment on a YouTube video last night:

SEC takes FSU & Clemson & BOTH the SEC & B1G stop @ 18 for now.

It does make sense while the ACC gets sorted out.

Florida State, West Virginia, Clemson and Virginia Tech fit SEC culture the best. No to UNC

Why WV?

The only culture I put with them is couch burnings.

Eventually, it will be only football conferences and other sports will have regional conferences. There’s no reason for Cal and Stanford traveling to BC for a women’s soccer match.
