West Virginia, Clemson, and Florida State will never be invited to the SEC. They bring nothing to the table, literally nothing. Do we all understand?
Any school that is a national brand brings something to the table. That rules WVU out but Clemson and FSU are national brands and with cord cutting changing the way we will watch games in the future, it will be more about the individual school than their media market.

Could have said the same about Texas, but here we are.

No use telling him anything. His school has never done anything in football and is basically a welfare program. Until recently they have not been much more than Vanderbilt.

Yes. Florida State and Clemson.

The SEC is in a position now where the league will not just take a couple of teams just to be adding schools. The SEC will handle future expansion much like it did with OU and Texas. The league will sit back and wait for certain teams to come and approach the SEC. If a team with a history and tradition such as FSU for example approaches the SEC about joining then the SEC will take them. The SEC isn’t going to try and go out and pick up a team like Memphis or Tulane though. I think the SEC might take up to 4 more teams but they are not going to initiate talks and they are fine if it takes 20 years to pick up those 4 teams. Those 4 teams will need to have a tradition or be relevant currently like a Clemson.
Just stop. Why do so many posters not understand conference expansion? The SEC will not take FSU or Clemson, they bring no new TV market viewership to us. Maybe you people need to write this over and over again on a chalkboard.
The two Virginia schools would be a possibility if it weren’t for the large penalty to leave the ACC.

No, Texas is on another level, and their state has 30 million people. There is no comparison.

Exactly. It’s comical how people don’t understand what conference expansion is about.

I'll make a list of teams that the SEC might consider in a hypothetical, but personally, I don't see the SEC having the desire to expand any further.
1. North Carolina
2. Duke
3. Virginia
4. Virginia Tech
5. Penn State
6. Ohio State
7. Michigan
8. UCLA
9. Southern California
The above schools are the only ones with the market presence and/or TV viewership potential to drive up a multiyear TV contract.

Yes, La tech and Coastal Carolina. If not La tech then possibly UCF or bring back Ga Tech. But definitely Coastal Carolina. We need minimum TWO teams from the same state with rooster mascots.

The SEC is sitting firmly atop of college football. There is no reason whatsoever to do anything until we see how the rest of CFB shakes out. The playoff expansion will determine any moves by the other conferences.
They want to stymie the SEC but that really isn’t possible now. 4, 6, 8 or 12 teams, it doesn’t matter. We will have the most entrants into the playoff and will continue to dominate it. If the other conferences want to make some television money, they’d better expand the playoffs to get some teams in. Losing to an SEC team in the playoffs is better than losing to, or even beating a nonSEC team in a shitty bowl.

Get your daddy to read this to you. Oh, you probably don’t have one.

If we expand again, let's get weird. Oregon, USC, Washington and UCLA.
