Bama will definitely be better this season.. they honestly couldn't be any worse. We will be more of a 3 ball shooting team oddly enough. Bama will sport at least 6 legitimate shooters after having 1 and a possible last year. We will be guard heavy and with TFr Justin Coleman and transfer Ricky tarrant Bama could have the quickest backcourt in the league. Bama will get production from the 3 at 4 positions featuring guards Tarrant, Coleman,Devin Mitchell and Levi Randolph. Forwards will feature Shannon Hale, Riley Norris and Rodney Cooper. We could see some solid shooting from Retin Obosahan and even from newly scholarshiped walk on Dakota Slaughter.

Bama should be average to Solid in the low post so our shooting will be of utmost importance. This team is going to resemble what Grant had at VCU, a bunch of wings and guards and a couple of big men.

After not quite adjusting to SEC style of bball Grant will survive or go out with his own style. Bama is deeper than at any time since grant has been here and he will be able to provide pressure a lot more than he has. Bama will be quick athletic and probably smaller than most of the really good SEC teams.. we'll have to see if this works out.

If we can shoot 35% or better from the 3 we will be hard to deal with and make the tourney.. if not it will be Grants last stand. Bama looked pretty decent in their exhibition game with 3 starters out. What are your expectations this season?

We're terrible. I expect we'll be blown out by VCU in our opener.

It sucks we have to play UK twice... Grant seems to do well against them.. especially at home but they'll be talking about THIS UK team being as good as some pro teams.. 9 McDonald's AAs.. that's crazy.

So young. Didn't like our coaching hire at first, but really enjoy it now. Hired some excellent recruiting help thats already paying off. The team will be excellent on Defense and Rebounding. Offense will be interesting.

honestly i didnt come away impressed with LSU in the opener. Jarell Martin looks like he's ready to take the next step though.

We have to hit the 3... our perimeter D has to be strong... we had a good test against Montevallo they had some great shooters 3 of the top 10 in D2 we defended well enough and out shot them from deep.. they got nothing inside but they had zero size.. we will do very well against guard oriented teams but I worry with the larger inside dominant ones... Taylor may be OK but I'm not sure what we get from Kessens yet. He's supposed to be skilled in the post but we haven't seen him play yet and he's coming off an injury.

The Cats are looking very, very good. Honestly, one of the biggest differences this year appears to be Andrew Harrison playing like a true point guard.

And Vandy? I'm not pleased with yall stealing Shelton Mitchell from the deacs. He looks like a great one.

It's just been NAIA teams and some national teams over the summer, but they've looked pretty good. Seem to definitely be a more cohesive unit then they were this time last season. And I really like the platoon system Cal is running, as it gives everybody plenty of PT and an opportunity to really go hard without having to worry about their legs late in a game.

Lets be honest. We scuffled against a D2 team. Montevallo is solid for their division, but they'd win maybe one game (if they got lucky) against any team on our regular schedule. I do realize we were without players, but I was still hoping for a little more separation from Montevallo.

If we're going to be good, we need Tarrant and Coleman to be good. Releford bailed us out and/or kept us close multiple times over the past two years. If those two don't step up, I don't have much hope for us to do anything but finish in the bottom third of the league.

We're going to be better ... how much better - it's too early to tell.

We're still very young, but typically Martin begins to turn things around in his third year I hear.

We're supposed to have the 5th best front court in the country...but our football team sucks, so nobody cares.
