These boards tend to delve into idiotic trolling, but I’d like to keep it serious if possible.

Georgia - Kirby has been wildly successful on the field and on the recruiting trail - this isn’t up for debate. That being said, how long does he get to stay being a perennial contender, but not bringing home a National Championship? Mark Richt was batting around 10 wins a season for a long time, but was eventually ran off.

Does the QB room give you concern? We are a prime example of wasted opportunity at the position - so many talented guys transferred out and found success elsewhere while we were lost in the woods. I mention this, because as it stands, the biggest threat to your hold on the East finally has stability and depth at the position. This is setting us up nicely on the recruiting trail, but this can rapidly snowball into years of frustration (as we can attest to, as can y’all to a small degree with Fields).

Tennessee - are you concerned with Pruitt being too successful and leaving for another job should it arise?

South Carolina - If Muschamp has a sub .500 season but can keep the high rated QB recruit in the fold, does that buy him more time? Conversely, how long would 8+ win seasons keep the fan base satisfied?

As for us, I’m just happy to finally watch entertaining ball on a consistent basis, but a CFP appearance and National Title would be nice.

Richt got fired because he finished with 3 or more regular season losses three years in a row. Kirby has only lost one regular season game three years in a row. Not even comparable

I certainly think the east is getting better.

I still have to keep UGA at the top but think UF is closing the gap. upcoming games. Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama.

UF is showing promise and playing better ball but it's early. upcoming games. USCe, A&M, LSU.

UT is... UT but I see improvement in them also. They aren't back yet. upcoming games. Missouri, UGA, Kentucky.

USCe is staying level and just can't make the step to be higher in the division. upcoming games. UF, Vandy, Auburn.

UK, Missouri, and Vandy are who they are.

The next few weeks should give a better idea of the pecking order east.

Uh, UK is still better than Carolina. Get a clue. We'll finish with the same record as UT.

Why do opposing fans always bring this shite up. We had Richt for 15 years and you guys seem to think we'll run Kirby out of town after just a few years. You also neglect to notice that Richt's last ten years were the reason he was run out of town. Not his first 5 years.

Mark Richts best year in his last 10 was an 11-2 season and a Sugar Bowl victory in 07. He only won 10 games 5 times in his last 10 and more than 10 only twice. I think “hovering” around 10 wins is a little generous, especially in the second half of his tenure.

Kirby just equaled his best season and it was considered a “disappointment.”

Good questions. I cant speak for the other teams but I think Pruitt will stay with TN. We are still a couple years out until we become relevant again. In other words competing against GA and FL. I do believe we are headed in the right direction.

Its hard to say who will win the East between Georgia and Floridia this year after just one week of the season. I do think both teams are stacked and it will be a slobber knocker

The series since moving to the SEC is 4-4 with Florida and Mizzou

not being critical to UK but they seem to lose games they shouldn't. they even had leads against UF but couldn't hold on. the next few weeks will give me a better idea. upcoming games. Ole Miss, Miss St., Tennessee.

Believe it or not.. our current QB room (sans Hill) is actually already filled with highly recruited QBs even if we lose that commit.

Well you guys should still play defense.

Kind of like when Trask came in last season and blew the doors off of ya'll.

Get good and all that.

Also the clock on the field has a "01" on it.

quite true.

Bobo/Stockton will be nice but they'll still be on a team that Will Muschamp is the HC. there is a ceiling and we've reached it with Muschamp in Columbia. he's been a stop-gap but nothing about his ability to make in-game adjustments indicates he's gonna start winning 6 or 7 games in the SEC, not even with Stockton.

-----------

as for the rest of the East, it's gonna be Florida-Georgia then the rest of us for the next 3-4 years.

Stoops has a huge home game with Ole Miss this weekend. 0-2 in Lex and all the sudden 2+ years of momentum runs slap into a wall. they're healthy and have all their players for game 2 this year so there's no reason UK should lose to a rebuilding Ole Miss & Kiffin year 1.

Tennessee is better than when they used to lose to Vanderbilt alot, but being better than USC, Missouri, Vandy right now doesn't put them in position to beat UF or UGA with regularity to reach Atlanta. even a bad UTK apparently owns UK so expect that to play out to its historical norm.

Georgia clearly has recruited as well as anyone in the country. Georgia just hasn't played to its potential consistently under Smart.

Florida has a better QB / OC situation than UGA this season, regardless if Daniels plays. Gators go to Atlanta this year.

I think Florida gives Bama a game in the SEC championship. Potentially. Both undefeated. Close game could send both to playoff.

Riiiiigggghhhhht.

Smart has been improving the recruiting every year he has been at UGA. Those underclassmen are finally upperclassmen. You will see the defense up close this season. Possibly our best ever.

Does the QB room give you concern?

Not yet.
We will have to see how Daniels does. UGA has enough talent to put up 33 points in a half with Stetson Bennett IV.
Daniels is the key to the position this season. Mathis is a project. Probably needs another year or two before he is ready to make better decisions with the football.

Pruitt would only leave for Bama and Bama isnt going to take him before he is ready. You sure you arent trolling?
Tennessee's offensive line looked good in the run blocking from what I saw last week. If they can manage 3rd down, they can be dangerous this season.
