re: What's with laughing at UGA for hiring Mike White?

I get where you’re (OP) coming from as UGA has never invested in basketball so to speak. The thing is, at Florida, he did less with more. If you’re expecting similar results at UGA, it’s not likely to happen as he won’t have the brand, infrastructure or talent behind him that Billy left in place.

Did the fan of a team with no hardware in 6 decades just comment when their team is about to play for hardware? I swear y’all have battered womens syndrome. It’s like you’ve already conceited the Natty and are onto the off-season topics early. Peak Georgia Form.

Albino was right all along. Wow we were so off on what we thought we had. Even with hindsight being 2020, it’s hard to tell where it all went wrong, because the talent was definitely there.

On 4 Star CB Chris Graves (Miami Commit)
From Miami 247:
I think there is some concern about Chris Graves and what he is going to do on Wednesday. I didn’t get to catch him on the way out, but people in Coral Gables aren’t certain about picking up his signature on Wednesday. One would have hoped that this weekend would have locked things up, but some feel like he may let the process play out.

It’s probably gonna be pretty ugly for us. UCF will treat this like the super bowl and come prepared and locked in. It’s our own fault. Florida should always have enough talent to win this game on talent alone. I don’t think we have enough.

06 had Race for the Heisman and Reggie Bush was literally unstoppable.

06 was my favorite. I still play 14. There’s a dedicated group over on operationsports that still updates rosters and rankings.

More hope than we’ve had in nearly a decade good sir. Starting to understand what it must be like for Georgia fans.

EA Sports NCAA Football set to return summer of ‘23. Finally. Return of EA Sports NCAA Football
I stated this on another post, just adding the disclaimer again. These are not my opinions/statements and I am not claiming to have in inside guy. Take them for what they’re worth, I’m just trying to share news among Gator Nation faithful, this board has been good to me.
"I've heard is that Rumph may not come. No idea why. They supposedly are talking today."
"Seider wants over $500k...his last contract at UF was $360k. I assume Billy has to look at who else he wants to bring in on staff as a whole and do some math. That's the hold up. Nothing more."
“Just going to state what I know and believe here and others can add of they want.
I was told that Seider was going to talk with Napier on Thursday and was heading back to PSU today for practice and official visit weekend.
I am sure they talked, I am not sure if it happened Thursday or today. I first assumed they were going to meet in person and with both of them in state right now it could have happened, but it may have been by phone.
I mentioned what I was hearing from some that talk to his family that the daughters are in high school and it would be good to let them finish up there. Also that he is a major part of recruiting the five-star quarterback at PSU and two highly rated four-star running backs (all three I believe are top 5 in their class). I was told that according to family he would like to coach them.
Money is only going to be an issue if the difference is a lot, at least that is what I believe hearing everything I have heard.
There is something to the calling of plays, but there is more to that which I can't get into right now and it isn't what everyone would think. I don't think it is a huge deal.
Florida is where he wants to be if all other things are even close to equal.
He didn't leave here last time because he got moved to tight end coach, he left because Mullen and the last staff made his family uncomfortable. I don't think being tight end coach would be a deal breaker.
OK now as to whether or not I think he comes???
Since his discussion with Napier, I can't get anything from my source. The source talks to me but says they haven't heard from Seider. I think the source is either not telling me the truth because was asked to keep quiet, or in fact Seider has gone ghost after the discussion with BN. Ether of those scenarios would be positive IMO.
I also believe that there really is no big deal to get him here until after PSU's bowl game. The dead period starts on Monday nd lasts until January 13. Nothing recruiting wise is going to happen over this weekend that he could change at Florida. PSU has been good ti him, he likely feels obligated to finish what he started with this recruiting class and the current team. That's the way he is.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. (for now).”

Sorry, I’ve been on the road all day. Just trying to share info from other boards. These aren’t my opinions and I am not claiming to have an inside guy, simply trying to share among Gator Nation.
“I am told that Napier and his current coaches basically want everyone who is hitting the portal or who has already hit the portal to stay at UF. Napier et al are scheduling face to face meetings with the players starting today. In fact, Diabate is meeting with Toney right now. Napier has been texting the potential portal peeps directly to set up these meetings. Despite that, I still expect Diabate to put his name in the portal. That does not mean that he will leave. I think Diabate will do his own research about the type of D that the Gators will run next year and his likely role. Napier wants these players to do the research and make an informed decision.
Also, there is some risk with the players hitting the portal. If a player hits the portal and then decides that he wants to stay put, it can be costly for the player in terms of loss of benefits (if the coach wanted to send a signal) which gets complicated.”
**Edit** this was put out before the announcement of Diabate.

And I’m 100% ok with that finch! LFG! This move can’t be overstated.
In year 4, Mullen brought on Jules Montenar.
In 72 hours, Big Balls Billy brought on Raymond.
I’m not expecting much in the inaugural signing class.
But this guy LINK and Ricks through the portal would be superb.
I’ve got a feeling Nap is about to go scorched earth on LSU.

Another message board I’m on has several guys that pay subscriptions and plenty of posters who have been pretty accurate about recent events. I’ll summarize a couple things on recruiting starting with Evers.
According to Alderman, Evers wanted to be the only QB in this class. In a scenario where EJ transfers and AR-15 lights the world on fire and goes to the NFL after the 22 season, this could put us in a bad spot down the road. If EJ manages to keep the job and AR-15 transfers, we’re in the same predicament.
I’m also seeing chatter that CBN is asking previously committed players to put certain workouts on tape and send it in for further evaluation.
Nap and his small staff have been hitting Louisiana and Texas hard because they have already scouted those regions for several years.
Guarantees from the Mullen era are not being afforded by the new regime.
My personal take:
Losing Evers stings no doubt, but he’s averaging around 50% completion his senior year. I believe he will be a good QB at the next level, but not a program changer. I don’t see this as a Corral / EJ situation.
Nap appears to be waiting to fill out the staff before accepting commitments. This leads me to believe that we will be getting some NFL guys that he has ties to, and wants the new staff to have time to evaluate players for their scheme.
Nonetheless, they’ve been hitting the trail (all 3 of them lol) pretty hard. Nap told us it would be slow. Nap told us he has a plan. We all wanted a change. This is what comes with change.

Cox takes too many plays off. He looks lost/slow way too often in the backfield.
You’re on the money. I remember Georgia fans saying the same thing about him when he transferred. I assumed it was freshman mistakes that would get cleaned up. Dude can be an absolute game breaker if he wants to, but doesn’t seem to want it.
I miss the days of having a Kearse, Dunlap, Fowler etc.
re: Is it just me or…
Posted by El Chap0 on 11/30/21 at 10:14 pm
It does seem that way. I wouldn’t be opposed to retaining Brewster and Savage though. Ultimately, it’s up to Napier who or even if he retains any Mullen era coaches, but I wouldn’t be mad if he kept them.
re: Head Coach News?

All the Redditors seem to think it’s Napier. Some believe the hold up is what has already been mentioned- certain guarantees. Others believe it’s because he has a championship to play for and wants to see it through. I’m hoping it’s a combination of both. I respect a man with a vision and a man who likes to finish what he started.
On the hire itself - I feel like we’ve been here before with a young up and comer who is an ace recruiter in Muschamp. Kiffin gets me excited, this hire not so much. I hope I am pleasantly surprised and can come back and eat crow. Whoever it is, I wish them nothing but success.

re: OK everyone who wants Mullen fired, what then? Who do we hire?

Hugh Freeze. It’s time. With the NIL, he will have a field day shoveling money to recruits, but this time he won’t be caught.

I agree. My voice still isn’t at 100% lol. Only one I can think of is when we beat LSU Burrows first season with them. That game was Electric too. But the stadium was a mad house Saturday!
re: Coaching: Smart or Mullen?
Posted by El Chap0 on 9/18/21 at 12:44 am
The ONLY reason Smart has an SEC Championship is because Auburn gave y’all the ultimate gift in the iron bowl. Please do not pretend that it’s anything other than that. We literally saw what would have happened a month later in the Natty. If Bama wins the iron bowl, Smart doesn’t win the SEC Championship, let alone get a play-off appearance. That’s not even Gator bias, that is facts.
