He promised Ulric Jones out of Oxford this past Saturday he'd put 30 pounds on him.

Jones is already 6-6, 250...

Bama won't be able to avoid that inevitability, but at least I hope that won't happen for a long, long time

Bama's defense is just punishing. It's what Saban coaches, and I love that style of play. The Chief tends to prefer less of an attacking defense. Like Les's offensive philosophy, I don't prefer it, but it seems to work.

I wonder if there are any other conferences where fans actually know other teams strength coaches by name? They might be right when they say we take it a little more seriously down here.

Upshaw only weighed 220 back in highschool.

I'll LET bama have more intimidating, even though it's not, but we are clearly the better and more talented defense.

So many will finally see the light come november 5th when bama struggles to stop LSU's smash mouth Offense, and Bama's run game is stopped which forces spankerson to have to win the game. Something he will have yet to witness. This comes down to experience at QB, and Bama has a severe disadvantage.

He grew up an Auburn fan, but TIFWIW.

I don't think he'll be a highly coveted recruit, but that's not knocking him either. He's a potential over production recruit at this point, which can be great finds or reaches...

The SEC truly has some great ones, like Yoxall at Auburn and Galt at Vandy(who was a wizard at Maryland in weightroom)...

Love the confidence but your attempt at respect was derailed by the " even though it's not". I think it's a little silly for either team to be very confident in this one. That's what is making it so much fun to talk about it. We all sorta agree. No arguments just a giant two team circle jerk. It's great if u r a fan of one of these teams. The rest of the guys feel left out and are sick of hearing about it already.

Alabama has the more intimidating D IMO. I also wanna say that the LSU offense is more intimidating, though. I'm not saying the LSU offense is better or anything.. it's just more physical and punishing.

Bamas is a make your arse quit D. LSUs is a keep coming at us so we can keep stealing the ball D.

Thats easy.

Arkansas.

Willy Rob's defenses are so intimidating ball carriers run extra fast to the endzone.

I think LSU is more intimidating for the same reason I think their DB's have the edge over Alabama's.. both teams have equally freakish athletes but the difference is bama's are forced to be a little more technical where LSUs are allowed to "free lance" a little more. I think that while LSU is more likely to give up a big play every now and then they are also more likely to make a big play because their athletism is being ultilized and not hendered by always being technically sound and worried about doing things perfectly.

It doesn't mean one is better than the other but it does make them more intimidating in my opinion.

Bama won't ever play Florida,Tennessee,Auburn, then LSU in a row. Don't worry, if they fall behind when they play LSU they will get a ref to put them back in it.

Even as an Alabama fan, Courtney Upshaw scares me. He always has a smile on his face. Even when he's knocking the hell out of a QB. He had this weird smirk on his face when he had that last sack on Brantley.
