SEC could screw themselves big time on TV contract

If LSU leaves or is kicked out, Disney/ESPN/ABC will absolutely renegotiate the TV contract. And before the SEC thinks it has options, just remember this.
CBS is locked in to the Big 10 for it's 3:30 p.m. time slot. Even if CBS wanted the SEC back, they have a contract with the Big 10. The SEC would have to settle for the Noon "appetizer" game. Talk about an insult, being a warm up to the Big 10.
NBC is locked into Notre Dame for it's 3:30 p.m. time slot and the Big 10 for it's prime time slot. NBC will have no interest in the SEC unless it's once again the Noon "appetizer" game.
FOX is locked into the Big 10 for it's "Big Noon Saturday" noon time slot. And FOX is not doing anything to mess that up. Plus FOX has the Big 12 and FS1 also has the Big 10 and Big 12.
Essentially, the SEC wouldn't have the leverage they think they would. Most likely NBC and CBS at Noon for the big games. Everything else would end up on TNT/USA/CW, especially without the SEC Network.
How will that work for the SEC?

There is zero loss from removing LSU.
The TV contract was negotiated in 2020, prior to the addition of Texas and OU.
For all those crying, but ESPN and Disney really really want LSU and would want out of the contract.
Texas and OU haven't been baked into those TV numbers, a renegotiation includes getting paid for those programs.
Do you think you are worth more than both those teams? You're not.
As a matter of fact as much as you want to run your mouths, you're only sixth in the entire conference with both Oklahoma and Texas being ahead of you. This pretend leverage you have is nonexistent.

Alabama: ~7.01–8.49 million
Texas: ~6.88–7.55 million
Georgia: ~6.17–7.48 million

LSU: ~4.28–6.42 million

SEC would just bring in more schools to counteract any loss? Now, LSU couldn't fix the loss they would take from the SEC money they'd lose, that's for sure.

We are underpaid in comparison to the big 10 as it is. I doubt much would change other than they’d ask us to add someone like a Florida state or North Carolina.

LSU is 2nd on average viewership behind Bama in the SEC the past two decades. 6th in the country on average. SEC has 4 of the top 6 on average per year. Nice of you to paint those numbers for a terrible LSU season though and still relatively high.

There are time slots set aside across the ESPN family of networks. The SEC is in breach if it can’t fill those. All SEC games are televised by ABC/ESPN.

10.4 million watched LSU vs Clemson. Highest number of the season by far.
