What the flying frick are you talking about?

they were the second best program in two different decades. I'm pretty sure Alabama is the only other SEC program with more.
That was sixty fricking years ago bra?
State has been to Atlanta, was ranked #1 for 6 weeks, has two different teams who played for national championships in the past 5 years and owns the head to head after conference expansion in 1992. State passed OM 2 decades ago. Tom forneli has no fricking clue what he is talking about. He even mentioned that several times in the article

Mississippi's reputation for in state talent is exaggerated. Per Busey's post above we produce the second lowest amount of NFL players among SEC states. We also share a relatively small state with another sec school and are bordered by two of the biggest recruiting juggernauts in cfb. And both of their campuses are closer to the highly populated areas of Mississippi than we are. If the in state talent in Arkansas was even close to other sec States then it would be one of the best jobs in the country.

LSU should be number one. Les Miles has already proven that the coaching equivalent of Goober Pyle can win a national title in Baton Rouge.
yeah but he could have won several at bama with what they have been able to get away with. I'm pretty sure that chimp from smokey & the bear could have won at least one.

Punch yourself in the face. You are ranked in that ranking exactly where you should be.

You know that no one really cares about this right?

How is Florida ranked #4?
I think UGA and UF are better than LSU, but UGA may be ranked ahead of UF because though the state of Florida produces more blue chip football players than any state, there are not only 4 major colleges in state, but the whole nation recruits the state hard.
UGA, on the other hand, hasn't any instate powerhouse programs to have to contend with and the school is by far the favorite college of instate recruits and their families, and those families are more often long term residents, going back generations, whereas that isn't as often the case in the state of Florida.

Where were you ranked? #3 if I recall. I would want to forget that too if I were you. Anyone who would say that OM is a better coaching job than State, in light of you current problems especially, is a vegetative retard.

Member when we kicked your arse that year and proved how stupid it is to have beat writers from state newspapers ranking teams?
Posted on 6/20/17 at 2:44 pm to MaroonNation
That shite has no weight. Do you remember what happened in the latter part of that season when you had to play the meat of the schedule? Once the season is over all that matters is what your ranking was at the end. Not the beginning and not at the eight week mark.

how can you justify Florida as the top football job in the conference? genuinely curious of the points you'd make to justify that opinion.

Yeah but you have multiple big name programs bordering the state that are trying to get a piece
Bama, Auburn, VOLS, Clemson, USC, FSU, UF etc

Except he won it with Saban talent.

This all depends on criteria, of course. Here is the hypothetical: A huge hurricane hits Destin during the summer meeting. Every SEC school has a coaching vacancy and can pay the same amount of money. How does Chip Kelly rank his options?
1a. LSU
1b. UF
1c. UGA
1d. Auburn
2. Bama (not to rustle jimmies, but'd you don't want to follow Saban no matter how good a coach you are (see, Miles, Les))
3. aTM
4. Tennessee
5. South Carolina
6. Arkansas
7. Mississippi State
8. Missouri
9. Vanderbilt
10. Kentucky ( would have come after Mississippi state, but you'll always be second fiddle as a football coach at UK)
11. Ole Miss (y'all f*cked).

Funny you use that "because of Saban" talking point while ignoring Stallings, Bryant, Thomas, Wallace (and, conveniently, Spurrier and Urb...what has UF done outside of those two?).
Your past doesn't mean shite, we're talking about what's available to a HC - the resources, money, and above all and where we have, and will always have you beat, the richness in recruiting. Florida has the best players in the country.
As far as being a "hot job" for college head coaches right now, so throw away your history shite & that's also why my Saban comment makes sense, you can't deny that UF has EVERYTHING a HC could dream of to play for titles year in and year out. If Saban was UF's HC I bet he'd have done even better.

What causes me to hesitate a bit, though, is that as many advantages as A&M has, there isn't a whole lot of success to go with it. The Aggies haven't won a national title since 1939 and only won one conference title since the formation of the Big 12 in 1994. Hell, they only won three divisional titles in that time.
or two for those scoring at home.
