I didn't realize that in 7 (??) seasons Dan Mullen has won 4 games against ranked opponents? And this is the guy they're paying $4m a year for?

Ranked at the time of the game, or at the end of the season?

To be fair, he racked up several of those at Michigan State.

Auburn fans (and a certain radio personality): "Gus will overtake Saban and rule that state."

I think it has to be ranked at end of year, because it has Sumlin as 0-3 last year, but we beat a few teams, like Arizona State, that were ranked when we beat them.

Why did you add 11 more losses?

According to the OP.

Of course, it would have worked out better for the OP if the link he provided agreed with his post.

In the link, Saban's record is 63-37. Maybe OP is including all the times Bama's beaten themselves?

OP's record for Les also fails to match the info in his link. Here's the 'I know how to copy & paste' info from the link. Smart and Odom are omitted because they're 0-0.

Nick Saban, Alabama/LSU/Michigan State
Overall: 63-37 (.630)

Les Miles, LSU/Oklahoma State
Overall: 44-26 (.628)

Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M/Houston
Overall: 13-12 (.520)

Hugh Freeze, Ole Miss/Arkansas State
Overall: 10-12 (.455)

Gus Malzahn, Auburn
Overall: 9-11 (.450)

Bret Bielema, Arkansas/Wisconsin
Overall: 14-28 (.333)

Will Muschamp, South Carolina/Florida
Overall: 5-13 (.278)

Butch Jones, Tennessee/Cincinnati/Central Michigan
Overall: 3-18

Jim McElwain, Florida/Colorado State
Overall: 1-6 (.143)

Dan Mullen, Mississippi State
Overall: 4-29 (.121)

Derek Mason, Vanderbilt
Overall: 0-8 (.000)

Mark Stoops, Kentucky
Overall: 0-9 (.000)

Using the numbers in the actual link:

Saban 63-31 (.630)
Miles 44-26 (.628)
Sumlin 13-12 (.520)
Freeze 10-12 (.455)
Malzahn 9-11 (.450)
Bielema 14-28 (.333)
Muschamp 5-13 (.278)
Jones 3-18
McElwain 1-6 (.143)
Mullen 4-29 (.121)
Smart & Odom - No games
Mason 0-8 (.000)
Stoops 0-9 (.000)

The site does not specify if the rankings are "time of game" or "end of year"

CFB Trivia has it by team. An example of Saban's tenure at Alabama:
At game time: (41-15-0)--0.732
At season's end: (29-15-0)--0.659
