I agree. Firsthand evidence is not required to eject a member.

But a responsible conference should probably have something besides news reports and Tweets.

Lane Kiffin admitted it,claiming "If we didn't do it, someone else will". That also implies he was starting it without someone else prompting.

He said it publicly as if to brag.

The players filed in Baton Rogue, despite neither of them even being from Louisiana. This was judge shopping.

They came to your school.

They practiced.

LSU held roster spots for them.

You are guilty.

LSU has sued no one.

I didn't say they have...yet, but I'm sure the aren't going to take getting kicked out of the SEC lying down.

For you slow retards: Just because they arent in possession of the information doesnt mean it won't come out in discovery.

Sure.

But this is talking about today.

I know you hope there is evidence, but there may not be.

Hope this helps.

To come out in discovery, it has to be germane to the suit and the allegations made therein. Nowhere does the SEC allege that LSU conspired with or encouraged these players to file their lawsuit against the NCAA. It doesn't appear in the original complaint or the amended complaint, so any discovery on this is improper. Maybe they amend the complaint again to add it, but if the SEC thought that there might be evidence of this, they would have included it in the complaint so they could seek discovery on it.

He admitted to recruiting them in case they became eligible. He did not admit to orchestrating any lawsuits. Good lord, what revisionist history.

He was talking about signing the players.

So did a bunch of other players, in the same lawsuit, which you conveniently ignore.

They came to your school.

The rest of the players involved in the same suit didn't, which you conveniently ignore.

LSU held roster spots for them.

None of these points are violations.

Try again.

They want to be able to follow their bylaws (which all of the member institutions agreed to) without having to go through the courts every time.

I get this. However, what is the recourse down the road for member institutions if the SEC decides to enact punitive consequences on a member for violating a bylaw. What if that claim that is levied on false information (as is this one)? To me this opens Pandora's box for giving the SEC too much power.

Basically, they can claim LSU lacked institutional control (which is bullshite to begin with), and LSU cannot challenge that claim based on today's potential ruling, thus subjecting LSU to punishment for things they did not do.

How is this not seen as a problem? But muh Kiffin said mean things.

Recruiting them was against the SEC rules.

And the TRO's were filled in Baton Rouge, not the states or places they were from.

Because that's where they were told to file them. And when they filed them, they already knew where they were going to go - AFTER they were made eligible by the judges.

LSU is 100% guilty of everything they are being accused of.

I don't want to blow your mind, but there were a lot more athletes in this lawsuit (the vast majority of the 43 of them) who had/have no intention of going to LSU nor had any previous connection to LSU.

You might be right. I never said whether or not I believed that the SEC would win the court hearing today, I was just commenting on what I believe to be their motivations for the hearing. I guess we'll all find out soon enough what this federal court rules, and then the rulings on any subsequent appeals afterwards.

Explain, O Wise One, why Ethan Johnson, for instance, filed in Baton Rouge?

Of holding roster spots open?

Look, I know you hate LSU and probably would love to see us kicked out but it makes no financial sense for LSU to be booted.

The ones that prohibit the signing or rostering of players with professional expereience.

It's the basis of the lawsuit the SEC has now.

You were recruiting ineligible players with the hope they would be deemed eligible by one of your local judges.

That much is clear and is supported completely by LSU's actions as I laid out previously.

Kicking LSU out is still the correct thing to do

Seems like the SEC should kick out Kentucky first. Not relevant in football, baseball, track, or any major sport. Including basketball now that NIL lets the rest of the SEC pay players which Kentuck did for years with a wink & nod from the SEC.
