It's interesting that so many of you are absolutely desperate to eject LSU, despite no actual evidence of wrongdoing, and no rules being broken.

there is a large segment of our society, not just in college sports, that just feeds off drama and can't get enough of it, regardless of the carnage it leaves behind. As long as it doesn't directly affect them, they couldn't care less and cheer for more

Just because the SEC doesn't have "firsthand evidence" doesn't mean that they aren't 100% sure that LSU did it.

well the problem with this theory is there is a burden of proof in a court of law that the SEC is going to have to meet and rules of evidence for which they have to comply. Saying we have no evidence but think this happened isn't going to do it if they don't have a witness with first hand knowledge to testify to it. This isn't an NCAA investigation where they can ignore due process.

Kicking LSU out is still the correct thing to do

Just do it already!

No doubt. They want to be able to follow their bylaws (which all of the member institutions agreed to) without having to go through the courts every time.

Barring a specific member from taking legal action makes this a constitutional issue.

Do you really think it’s fine for the SEC to try to get a judgement infringing upon LSU’s constitutional rights?

Seems a waste of court time to grandstand.

All of the endless litigation the past 5+ years has been a waste of time and harmful to college athletics. It will be its undoing

The problem is there doesn't seem to be evidence of any bylaws being broken.

It seems to me that the SEC is seeking power to just do whatever they want, bylaws or not.

Then they’re retarded. That’s why the court is not going to issue a permanent injunction or TRO on LSU today. Imagine the precedent that would set.

Exactly.

“We can’t provide any evidence that LSU broke any of our rules, but we want to kick them out anyway, and we want you to make sure they can’t sue us for it.”

^^^
People advocating for this have lost their minds.

Pretty sure the real bylaw that the SEC wants the authority to enforce is the one that states "2/3 of the schools can vote any member out". I'm pretty sure that bylaw doesn't have any evidence requirements attached to it

Right, and kicking someone out means a lawsuit coming your way. The SEC is begging for them to prevent that, which is absurd.

Essentially, the SEC overreached and is trying to get the court to cover their asses for it.

Nah, they can vote anyone out at anytime for anything.

They're seeking protection. Why is that?

Sure, the issue is that Sankey and the SEC is asking the court to also tell them that there will not be any repercussions for voting LSU out. That is where the suit oversteps.

No, they want the right to do this without being challenged by any member in court. No due process, nothing. That’s not going to happen. A court would be crazy to set that precedent.

I would be shocked if every other president and school administration wants to kick LSU out. I'd also be shocked if the Thursday vote isn't either canceled or they vote not to kick LSU out.

I think all they are hoping for is a federal court to rule that the can enforce their bylaws, and then hold the member institutions feet to the fire by holding the "2/3 to vote you out" bylaw over their heads so everyone stays in lockstep through this current time ok chaos in college athletics.

If that is the case then you tell me why they are in federal court today?
