It doesn't mean more, but if a team couldn't win their division or conference, they are kind of a shitty national champion. The trifecta is much more of an accomplishment.

The trifecta is lagniappe. The sec championship means u ran the gauntlet and beat the best. The Natty is bull because you get time off to rest and game plan and all that bs. It’s just not as pure.
It’s is cool to have the occasional win against another confrence champ but for the most part of you win the sec the rest is just a formality.
I’m definitely a believer of if you don’t win your conference you shouldn’t play for a Natty.

Only one team can win it all. Winning the conference is a great accomplishment but let's not kid ourselves here.
But I'll give a toast to 2011 LSU, 2017 Georgia, and 2021 Bama: the 3 conference champions to finish 2nd in the conference.
